"Excellent, excellent, excellent service. It's stunning these days to have a transaction with a company which is stress free. Add to that the extremely reasonable pricing, stellar and regular communication, and perfect execution, how could I not write a review? I had to have my old film replaced after 17 years. The original company quoted a price that was out of our ballpark. I thought I'd have to live with really awful looking windows with the old scratched and disintegrated film. I was kinda bummed. On a whim I did a search, not expecting to find much help. I contacted Clear View, and they responded quickly, came out to evaluate, explained it wasn't just the look but the actual functionality of the film which was compromised. Then he created a proposal with the best products for my needs. He didn't try and oversell. He didn't price gouge. And for twice the amount of work as the first company had quoted for, he gave me a quote a few hundred dollars less. Then he communicated consistently and thoroughly every step of the way. The person who did the work was prompt, quick, and had excellent skills. Put up with the menagerie here, too. Then there was follow up! To make sure I knew how to care for the windows properly. To make sure I was satisfied. To let me know the warranty had been submitted. All along, interactions were businesslike but very friendly, easy going, and oh so responsive. Thank you for making this a business transaction that stands out in my mind for all the very best reasons. You made such a difference by making this stress free, fair, and customer focused."

"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

Hurricane Film questions, answered by experts

Hail damage to a roof looks different depending on the type of roof. On asphalt roofs, you’ll likely see dark circles on the impact sites of the larger pieces of hail, and you may see small cracks in the surrounding shingles. Hail damage is easiest to spot on a metal roof, as you’ll notice dings and dents where the hail was severe enough to cause damage. Whether you notice signs of hail damage or not, it’s best to have a hail damage repair company inspect your roof after a major storm to assess the damage.

Stay inside or well away until the storm passes. Don’t go outside to inspect the tree until the weather clears, especially if the tree is on a hill or isolated in a field. Lightning often strikes the same easily-accessed places multiple times, and you could be a new target. If a lightning strike causes a noticeable fire, alert emergency services. When the storm is over, take a closer look to gauge the damage done.

Yes, home insurance coverage includes hail damage. An HO-1 insurance policy offers the most basic coverage for homeowners. In every homeowners’ insurance policy, the insurer includes a list of perils (or dangers) that you’re covered from, and HO-1 policies almost always include protection against hail and windstorms as well as other perils like fire, lightning, and vandalism. All you need to do is file a homeowners insurance claim, and your insurer will send you a check for the amount covered.

If your roof has storm damage, there will be some telltale signs. These include missing, loose, or damaged shingles. You may notice cracks or dents on the metal parts of your roof, like flashing, gutters, or metal panels. Water leaks are another big indicator. So are visible signs of impact. Rather than climb up on your roof to check, hire a professional to inspect the area  safely.

Most homeowners insurance policies cover skyight damage that is caused by hail. Hail damage is considered a covered peril under most standard insurance policies. However, this only applies if your skylights were properly installed. Also, insurance policies vary, so be sure to check your individual policy to see if skylight hail damage is covered.
