"He and his wife came out to my home on 9/30/17 and trimmed out three oak trees away from my home. The limbs had grown over the top on my home was were starting to scrape the roof some. He was very professional, took his time and made sure as he fell the branches that they were tied off well to keep from hitting the house. I would highly recommend his services to anyone that needs them."

"Called other services in the area and couldn't even get a return call for an estimate. Called Cory at Platinum Tree service, he returned call the same day and set up time and date for estimate. Showed up on appointed date and time, walked over the property twice to ensure a proper estimate. Made an estimate and set up service date. He arrived on time and stayed until job was finished. Did all the work and clean up he promised, very honest and polite crew. They worked until the job was finished. Had all the equipment needed to perform the work. Would not hesitate to recommend his company or to use his services in the future . The Irving Family, Bracey Va"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If you’re buying a small tree with lots of room to grow, expect to pay around $100 to $200 for a potted version. But if you’re buying a larger tree—say one over 10 feet—prices rise, starting in the $500 to $600 range and increasing quickly from there. Keep in mind that paying for professional palm tree planting or transplanting services will increase the cost.

Most tree surgeons cost around $100 per hour or between $70 and $200 per hour for their services. You might get flat fees for more straightforward services, like a tree assessment, tree removal, stump grinding, and one-off treatments, but many times, treatments for tree diseases or pests will be charged based on an hourly rate or a per-visit rate. Since the cost of a tree surgeon can vary widely, it’s best to speak with an arborist near you to get an idea of what your particular issue will cost to correct.

The average lifespan of an oak tree is 100 to 300 years, so long as it isn’t impacted by diseases like sudden oak death. Some species will last shorter or longer, depending on where you live.

If the roots are still alive, the dead tree will usually try to put out new shoots. That doesn’t mean the tree will survive or that the dead parts of a tree will come back to life. If parts of the tree have died and turned gray or rotten, nothing will bring them back to life and they need to be safely removed.

When a palm tree no longer produces new fronds and old fronds start turning yellow-brown, that’s a sign the tree is dying. However, transplanted palm trees can show these signs for the first several months as they re-establish themselves. It’s best to keep watering and not give up on the palm tree until a couple of seasons have passed and you’re sure it’s not coming back to life.
