"Jeff did a fabulous job on my 2 guest bedroom carpets. They had so many wrinkles and some areas were not attached anymore to the carpet tack board. Jeff stretched them and removed all extra carpeting. He then fixed each carpet doorway so they are straight and even. They look brand new."

"David with The Carpet Guy did an excellent job. Their pricing is great, the communication was excellent and he was super fast. He was mindful of my safety, discussing cautions of wet linoleum if I entered while the carpets were still wet. He even hit the tops of the steps for me. I would highly recommend."

"Within an hour of entering my needs on HoneAdvisor, I had a follow-up call by Carpet World and a commitment to have someone at my house that day. Although it was late in the day, two very courteous workers came, expertly fixed the problem. Note before Caroet World, I’d tried for months to find someone to come and address my carpet issue. Carpet World was terrific."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

In most cases, laminate flooring is better for people with dust or other allergies as laminate is easier to clean. Carpet can trap pollen and other allergens, allowing them to be kicked up into the air again with foot traffic. Consult your flooring specialist about the best types of carpet or laminate flooring to use based on your household member’s needs.

The costs range from $3 to $10 per square foot, depending on the carpet type, labor, and subfloor preparation.

DIY installation is challenging; professionals ensure proper fitting, adhesive application, and long-term durability.

Nylon carpet is widely considered one of the most durable and longest-lasting options, typically lasting 12 to 15 years. Its durability comes from its high resistance to wear, tear, stains, fading, and abrasions. It also resists liquid spills, insects, mold, and mildew, making it ideal for high-traffic areas like living rooms and hallways. For even greater longevity, frieze or Berber carpets are excellent choices that can last up to 20 to 25 years.

Beyond the material, a carpet's construction is key to its durability. Low-pile carpets with short, tight loops hold up better against wear than high-pile options. As a synthetic material, nylon is available in a vast range of colors and styles and often feels remarkably soft.

Yes, carpets should be replaced after a house fire or significant smoke damage, even if they appear undamaged. Smoke, soot, particulates, and chemicals can penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and padding, making complete removal a complicated and time-consuming process. If water was used to extinguish the fire, it can also soak through the carpet and padding, creating a risk of mold and mildew growth. Due to these challenges and potential health risks, replacing the carpet is the safest and most effective solution.
