Boasting 35 years of top-quality service, YES Home Services provides service maintenance, repair and installation. We fix air conditioning, plumbing, heating, & electrical malfunctions for residential & small commercial clients along the Wasatch Front. We serve Weber, Davis, Salt Lake, Tooele, Summit and Utah Counites. 24/hr emergency services.

"YES HVAC scammed me out of $2,500. When I had my furnace & air conditioner replaced last year, YES failed to mention that Carrier (both my heater & AC were Carrier brands) was running a promotion that if you replaced both a furnace & an AC system with Carrier products, they would give you a cash rebate of $2,500. YES HVAC simply did not inform me of the company rebate program; instead, they just took the money from me without my knowledge. I eventually found out about the rebate later when I replaced the second full system in our house. Obviously I went with another more transparent/honest company the second go around. When I discussed the situation with YES management (even providing them with the written proof from Carrier Company of the rebate program), I still have heard nothing further from YES. My suggestion is to go with the competition rather than YES HVAC; it cost me a $2,500 rebate, what will they scam you out of?"

"Cole came recommended by one of our neighbors, and weâ ve had him out for a couple of projects now. One of the times he also ran an outlet outside for a future hot tub. After the first project, we used him, we referred him to 2-3 other family members that have used him and had really good experiences as well. Not only is he personable, but heâ s very particular in his work. Itâ s good to see someone that takes pride in what they do, these days."

"They showed up on time, did great work and were a competitive bid. I liked their solution to the problem with using conduit down low on the outside of the house versus going up into the attic and then coming down the side of the house. I would definitely hire them again if I need more work done."

"I was debating between changing my one star to a two star. I went with two star because Sego fixed their mistake but I am still very disappointed. When our house was finished in spring 2020 apparently a valve for the refrigerant on our AC was not tightened sufficiently. And I get that mistakes happen so I’m not too upset about it. However, it caused refrigerant that should have lasted around 20 years to leak out in 2.5 which resulted in our AC failing on a night this month with record heat. By the time we were ready to our our baby to sleep it was almost 90 degrees in his room so we did what any parent would do and called an after hours HVAC company to come and help us make it through the night. Sego doesn’t offer 24 hour service so it was the only choice we had. They came and told us that leaky refrigerant was the problem and they would help fill it up and replace our now burned out capacitor to help us until Sego could. It cost us $500 out of pocket. The next morning we called Sego right when they opened and they had their HVAC guy come and take a look and he eventually came to the same conclusion that a valve was too loose resulting in a refrigerant leak. They said it was “on the house” because it appeared to happen during the construction of our home. They made a big deal about how they take care of their customers and wanted to make it right even when the 1 year warranty was up on our home. They went on about how considerate it was and how they care about making their customers happy. That’s where I have to disagree. During all this, I left a review on their Google page stating what happened and my ultimate disappointment that this went unnoticed when QC should have caught that on installation. I was called by their VP Spencer Corbridge asking me to take my review down (very weird and unprofessional in my opinion). He said they felt like they had done their part and would appreciate a higher review. I expressed I would be happy to, if they refunded us the $500 that we had to pay out of pocket. He said he wouldn’t do that because we went through a different tradesman than them. I asked what he would have had us do considering they were closed and our house was in a now non- livable condition especially for a baby. He gave me the run around and just said how Sego did more than should have been expected because our house was no longer under warranty. How were we supposed to know something was leaking until a problem presented itself? Did they expect us to sleep in a 90 degree house? Sego doesn’t care about their customers or taking care of people who trust them to partner with them in making such a big investment and building a home with them. They only care about saving face and keeping an extra dime in their pocket. DO NOT BUILD WITH SEGO if you want to feel taken care of and respected. National more reputable home building companies do far more for the customers and will do what it takes to make things right. Sego does not."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Some portable cooktops are compatible with standard 120-volt outlets, but most induction (and electric) ranges and stoves need a dedicated 220- or 240-volt circuit and 40 to 50 amps to work. If you are replacing an old electric range with an induction one, you likely already have the proper outlet, but it’s worth checking with a local appliance installation company.

While it’s not mandatory unless you’re purchasing a home, it is important to schedule regular home electrical inspections for safety and to maintain your house’s value. Inspections can reduce fire risk and can help save money on insurance premiums. They can also catch problems before they start, saving money on repairs down the line.

There are several tools available to help prevent electrical fires. First, ensure that you have GFCI outlets installed in necessary areas, along with an AFCI, which is a circuit breaker that can help prevent arc-faults. Investing in surge protectors is also wise, as they can safeguard your appliances and other items against power surges that may overload your outlet and cause sparking.

Most hot tubs use between 1,500 watts and 6,000 watts of electricity, depending on the voltage of your heater. 120-volt heaters tip toward the low end, and 240-volt heaters tip toward the high end. Expect your pump to add another 1,500 watts. Newer, energy-efficient models use less electricity, while older models use more.

As a safety measure, you should always turn off the main breaker while operating your generator’s backup breaker. In addition, you should also switch off all appliance breakers so you don't have a power surge when the main breaker turns back on. And finally, turning off the main breaker prevents back-feeding, which endangers utility workers with the risk of electrocution. Back-feeding could also destroy the electrical circuits of your neighbors if they use the same power network.
