"We needed prompt service for some architectural drawings, and Skyline Design delivered! He came out the next day, quickly drew up plans. We had a zoom call to fine tune any concerns, and had our plans off to the engineer within two weeks. Phone calls were returned quickly. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would highly recommend this company."

"communication was just a bit off and abrasive yet understandable. Had to assure my draft person that I wasn't putting blame on him. And the communication was as if time is money and yet again my plans were very good. Price was a bit steep but my overall satisfaction was really good."

"Best builders around, they have the ability to do anything that you need. Clic homes have done remodels for me, we used Clic homes to build a new home in 2020 and I am currently using them to construct a detached garage. They are very knowledgeable in all trades and provide a finished product that you will not be disappointed with."

"I had a complex project involving existing infrastructure, new construction and reusing as much as possible for sustainability. XYZMaster was the only firm I approached that had the ability to meet these requirements. EJ was super helpful and worked with me to make this happen. "I was really under the gun due to a prior Architectural firm not performing their duties per building plan codes. Not only were the plans incomplete but the City Plan Reviewer states(The Worst plans he’s ever seen) they will not make adjustments unless there is an additional charge for Thousands. Evaluation’s saved my clients and drew our project per code, along with Engineering in less time then they quoted. I highly recommended them, Especially Kirsten. You went above and beyond trying to coordinate this project. The staff was very professional and I will use them on all my projects. Sincerely, Frank B BCM Builders"

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

You should pick steel for your new support beam for a few reasons. While steel is more expensive than other materials, such as laminated veneer lumber or glulam, it offers the following benefits:

  • Fire-resistant

  • Unaffected by pests

  • Longer-lasting

  • Stronger against water damage (when galvanized against rust)

No, beams are the primary load-bearers for flooring or roofing systems, and they distribute the weight of the structure to your foundational supports, while joists bear far less weight and distribute their loads to the beams. Beams are usually thicker and longer, and they have support posts or foundation walls beneath them for support.

Structural engineers can perform various inspections on different structures in your home. These inspections usually include a report detailing the engineer’s findings and recommendations for repairs so you can determine your next course of action for repairs, replacements, or new builds. Some of the most common structural engineering reports include:

  • Full home inspection: $350–$1,000

  • Foundation: $300–$800

  • Load-bearing walls: $300–$1,000

  • Roof: $150–$600

  • Chimney: $200–$500

Absolutely, as it ensures designs are viable and won’t compromise structural integrity.

Through detailed analysis of load paths, materials, and existing damages.
