"Needed an electrician for a small project, but the work Vector provided was truly top notch and impressed me to hire him for larger projects. He was punctual, provided excellent communication, and is professional with an old fashioned and personable approach. What more can you ask for? I will be using Travis for all my electrician needs. There is an honesty and reliability in Vector that is hard to come by."

"Israel called me within minutes of submitting my request for service. He gave me an estimate over the phone and showed up up the next morning - on time! He honored the quote I was given over the phone and installed our ceiling fan without any issues. Just a little FYI he quoted 1/2 the price of another company and he installed our fan without a 2 week wait! We will call Israel for all of our electrical needs."

"Chase went the extra mile - installed new circuit breaker panels and did trouble-shooting to find a very difficult problem we have been having with one circuit (an intermittent problem). He found it and corrected it. Did much extra work but stuck to the estimate he had given me."

"I've hired Mike multiple times, not just for HT stuff. He's always gone out of his way to provide outstanding service. He's thorough, careful, and knowledgeable, as well as being OCD about your electrical safety. He carries the code book around in his head. Exactly the sort of guy you want repairing, upgrading and maintaining one of the most critical areas of your home. I have and will continue to recommend him to my friends."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.
