"We hired Joe to figure out why our sprinkler timer wasn't turning on the sprinklers, even though everything I saw on the display seemed to indicate it was working fine. Joe showed up and very quickly figured out what the problem was. It was clear from his testing that we needed to replace our sprinkler timer (i.e. it could not be repaired). Since I could do that myself, he did not even charge me for the service call. Joe was very friendly and easy to deal with. He clearly knew what he was doing and I will not hesitate to hire him in the future and would recommend him to anyone."

"I hired Affordable Assistance to finish a bathroom remodel we had started years ago after their quote beat every price I had previously received. John was very knowledgeable about the job I asked him to do, everything from drywall repair to installing a surround, painting, installing fixtures etc. He was great about keeping me up to date on the progress of the job, he was very professional and courteous and is a very efficient worker. In a short two days our bathroom was as good as new. There was no telling it had ever been ripped apart. He was also very thorough about his clean up, something I very much appreciate. I would most definitely hire him again."

Playground Equipment questions, answered by experts

Yes! It’s always a good idea to anchor your playset. Even though they’re heavy, it doesn’t take much wind to blow one over. Anchoring everything to the ground makes it a lot safer for your kiddos.

There are many different types of basketball hoops available to choose from.

  • Portable hoops are fully moveable and generally do not require assistance with assembly.

  • Semi-portable in-ground hoops have an anchor cemented in the ground and a removable post.

  • In-ground hoops are fully built into the ground as one piece and cannot be relocated after placement.

  • Wall-mounted hoops do not have a post or pole and work well when space is limited.

Both indoor and outdoor basketball courts are excellent options, and the best choice depends on factors like your local climate, available space, and budget. As long as the court and hoop dimensions are standard, any player can get a great workout and improve their skills on either type of court.

The primary drawback of an outdoor court is that weather, such as rain and wind, can hinder playing time. An indoor court solves this problem, allowing you to play anytime. However, installing an indoor court can be costly and takes up a significant amount of space that might otherwise serve as a living area.

The cost of the materials to build a DIY playground will run you about $700 to $1,000, which could vary based on the type of lumber you choose to use. On the other hand, buying a pre-made playset costs $1,000 to $6,500 or more, and if you choose to have it professionally installed, you’ll pay an additional $330 to $700.

Children can become interested in playset activities as young as two years old, and many start to lose interest between ages nine and 12. Backyard playsets can grow and adapt as the children age and playtime interests change.
