"When no one locally even responded to my inquiries for a quote, Michelle got back to me the same day with a quote and description of how the repair would be done. It's a slight downside to have to ship one glove coast to coast for a minor repair on one finger. But the cost of shipping and the repair is much less than purchasing another $100 pair of gloves! The repair took a little longer than anticipated, but shipping time had to be factored in as well. Michelle was very prompt with communications during the process. Cost of service below did not include shipping which was about $16 round trip. The glove returned good as new...well as good as it's pair. The glove is two years old. But the seam was totally resewn and reinforced. Michelle stated she did not want to the issue to happen again. I hope it won't. The problem started with my fingers rubbing. Very happy with the service from Premier. I wish they had a shop in Maryland!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Homeowners in Ogden typically select fabric type, color, and UV resistance to protect against local sun exposure. You’ll also decide on cushion firmness, stain-resistant or pet-friendly materials, and trim details. Coordinating delivery or pickup, setting project timelines, and choosing protective fabric treatments are key steps. These choices ensure your upholstered furniture fits both your lifestyle and Ogden’s unique climate.

Helpful?

In Ogden, faded or brittle fabric, seams pulling apart, or foam that feels uneven are strong indicators that upholstering work needs attention. If you notice fabric pilling, loose buttons, or staples showing, especially after exposure to Ogden’s dry air and sunlight, it’s time to redo the upholstery. Using climate-appropriate, UV-resistant materials is essential for long-lasting results in this region.

Helpful?

Professionals in Ogden first assess the furniture’s frame for cracks or dryness caused by the local climate. They address safety issues like pests or old padding, then reinforce the structure before replacing foam and fabric. Material selection focuses on UV resistance and durability, ensuring the finished piece withstands Ogden’s dry air and strong sunlight. Each step is prioritized for longevity and safety.

Helpful?

In UT, immediate attention is needed if you spot exposed springs, rapid fabric breakdown, or health risks like mold. For minor wear or fading, you can delay the project, especially if the furniture isn’t used daily. Consider Ogden’s seasonal trends—winter often brings more availability for upholsterers. Prioritize repairs that affect safety or function, and schedule cosmetic updates when convenient.

Helpful?

While upholstering in Ogden usually doesn’t impact major home systems, consider how moving large furniture through narrow doorways or up stairs could temporarily disrupt your space. During colder months, adhesive odors or dust from old fabric removal may linger in well-sealed homes. Plan for short-term changes to room access and ensure clear paths, especially in multi-level Ogden homes with tight entryways.
