"JS Epoxy Flooring was super responsive from the very start and was very helpful with detailed information about the project. He was willing to be flexible with our unpredictable timetable. He was willing to special order the color we wanted and then did a fantastic job of installation. He was flexible with payment processing, taking our needs into account. We are very happy with the result and would recommend JS Epoxy Flooring to anyone."

"Painted all of the ceilings on our main floor white. Did an outstanding job. It took a day or 2 longer than we were originally told but it was well worth the wait and we really didn't have a need to have the job done in 2 days anyway. Wayne, our painter, was very professional. He arrived when he said he would and cleaned up as he went from room to room. He was obviously concerned that we were happy with every aspect of the job. I had 2 other bids for the job. They ranged from 3 times to nearly 5 times as much so, value for the dollar spent was outstanding. We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend EmeraldPro Painting of Northern Utah."

"I absolutely love my garage floors. Weâ ve put a lot of work in our house to make it look nice and the garage always bothered me because now Matter how many times I cleaned it it still looked bad. Now with these new floors they it looks so much better and honestly I have to clean in there way less!"

"This is an update of the review dated 2/5/20. Update. Noa responded to our contacts. He was out of the country for an extended period. Came out and inspected our concerns. Agreed the puddling is a problem. Determined a reasonable fix. Came back and cut a kerf which drains the area of concern for the most part. Drainage is definitely improved."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5 estrellas Estoy encantada con el trabajo de piso epóxico que me hicieron en el garaje. Aunque inicialmente me dijeron que tomaría un día y al final fueron dos, valió totalmente la pena. El resultado superó mis expectativas: el diseño quedó exactamente como lo imaginé, se ve bellísimo y la calidad del trabajo es de alto nivel. Se nota el profesionalismo y la atención al detalle. ¡Definitivamente los recomendaría!"

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can seal old concrete, but proper preparation is essential. Before sealing, ensure the concrete is clean, dry, and free of any old sealant. To check if resealing is necessary, place a few drops of water on the surface; if they are absorbed in less than five minutes, it's time to reseal. If you are using the same type of sealer that was previously applied, you may not need to remove the old layer. However, if you are applying a different type of sealer, the existing one must be removed. Additionally, repair or fill any cracks to create a smooth base before you begin sealing.

Mix the resurfacer into a sticky mixture. The consistency should look like mashed potatoes. Use a squeegee to push the resurfacer across the pitted area and smoothen the surface with a cement trowel flush. Make sure you protect any expansion joints with a weather strip. Alternatively, cut out any resurfacer that touched the joint once the mixture begins to harden.

Polished concrete floors also have downsides. Some homeowners, for example, might dislike the coldness of the material (though area rugs can help warm up the space). Concrete floors are also hard, which isn’t always ideal for children and pets. What’s more, these floors are susceptible to cracking, and repairs can be costly. Some homeowners might not like that installation isn’t DIY-friendly.

Resurfacing a garage floor takes about eight hours on average, with another couple hours over three days to do the epoxy. Epoxy goes on in three coats, with each coat taking 24 hours to dry and cure. You’ll need to keep foot and vehicle traffic off of your garage floor for around 4 days in total when replacing your garage floor, so be sure to plan ahead before you start. This is a great time to organize your garage since you’ll need to move everything out to apply the epoxy.

Always seal concrete stain to protect against wear and preserve the color. This applies to acid- and water-based stains but not always to concrete paint. Many paints designed for outdoor use contain ingredients designed to protect and waterproof without the need for additional sealant. Fortunately, learning how to seal concrete is something most DIY-savvy homeowners can tackle.
