"Alan Gaul merged two back to back closets and turned it into s larger pantry. He removed and closed off the two existing doors and repositioned it on the kitchen side. He did an excellent job and made sure everything was perfect and cleaned up before he left. I highly recommend him."

"DML and his crew are amazing! I had a big project for them for my basement . They had to completely replace the subfloor of a large room and reinforce some of the crumbling infrastructure with a new retaining wall. They gutted, expanded, and remodeled the bathroom with new tile, sink, toilet, vent and fan, everything! I've already recommended them to two other people. Also, their prices are very reasonable."

"Jeff is excellent! We highly recommend him. He’s hard working, responsible, positive and pays attention to detail. He mowed my mom’s lawn for about two years. He always went above and beyond and was incredibly kind to her, willing to help in any way."

"This was our families first remodel/renovation. After several contractors and subcontractors coming through our home, we ended up going with Villa Homes, and using Carlos for all of our renovation needs. At first, we just wanted our basement finished and Carlos and his crew were always on time and made sure we knew the plan, and all of the work was approved prior before even going forward. He set up contractors for drywall, mud and tape, framers and even had an engineer come in to see if we could take down a wall. It was going so smoothly that we ended up having him help with our kitchen remodel, and actually ran into some issues- (caused by me and my hubby) not contractors. ? Carlos would stop what he was doing to come and help us with something that he hadn’t even signed on to do. Even little things like hooking up our new range or helping with our new island microwave. His expertise in electrical came in handy more than once, along the way! Carlos is very precise and pays close attention to details and even advised us on some things that would either be difficult later on or may not look as good. He educated us on three tone paint something we didn’t even know anything about. The basement remodel is absolutely beautiful and the Subcontractors he uses are professional and highly skilled. Baseboards, crown molding, windowsills, doors, door frames were done by skilled workers. Villa Holmes assisted with scheduling around our flooring company coming in and doing the floors, and our countertops. They made sure to guide us on what would need to go in first example vinyl plank flooring would need to be done before the baseboards were put in. They handled all of our family and even my dogs grew to love him and his crew. They worked tirelessly through the holidays and I was told that the basement would be a 3 to 5 month project and Carlos and his team got it done in six weeks without cutting any corners. Carlos‘s bids were well below everyone’s and he cares about getting the job done fast. He guided us on what was code appropriate and if there was something that we needed to do, he would advise and always listen to what we wanted. My son loves his new bedroom and closet, that Carlos and his team built. Anyone who is reading this review, do not waste your time with other contractors. Villa Holmes will be who we contact for all of our future needs."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Make sure you’re getting the right size to meet your space needs, including enough space both side to side and vertically to accommodate your RV’s features and allow you to safely move it in and out of the garage.

If you’re building an attached and enclosed garage for your RV, you’ll also want to give some thought to whether you’d like to add workspace, water or electricity, or additional storage. If so, you’ll need a garage with larger dimensions.

The cost to draw house plans typically ranges from $800 to $2,700, with standard blueprints averaging around $1,800. For a custom home, the cost is higher, with blueprints often falling between $5,000 and $20,000, and potentially more for very complex designs. Several factors influence the total price, including the project's size, the number of rooms, the type of drawings required, and the architect's experience level. You may also need to pay a structural engineer to ensure building safety, particularly for custom homes.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.

Yes, you can finance cottage construction through several options. Construction loans provide funds in stages as work progresses, while home equity loans or lines of credit are available if you have existing property. Some lenders offer a combined construction and permanent mortgage. Always review loan terms and payment milestones before committing.
