"Did a fast and great job. Leveled deep enough the ground. Didn't cheap out on material and laid enough gravel layer. Totally recommend!"

"We recently had Spartan Asphalt take care of crack sealing on our streets, and they did an awesome job. The crew was professional, showed up on time, worked hard, and paid attention to the details. Everything came out clean and looks great. It’s hard to find companies these days that actually care about the quality of their work, but Spartan definitely delivered. We’ll absolutely be using them again for future asphalt maintenance projects."

"The team at Good Samaritan Landscaping was amazing. They made the process very smooth for us. They came out several times before we were ready to start landscaping to talk over our options. They were quick and effective in their process. They were honest and helpful. Their work was great and it looks beautiful…they are professionals. We will definitely use them again!"

"Noa and his crew were on schedule, as they predicted. All were polite, respectful and well qualified in their work. The finished driveway and sidewalk look good, though there is already a hairline crack in one area after a week, hopefully it won't get larger. There was one issue with some damage done to the edge of my garage floor by the demolition process. I sent Noa pictures and asked for his recommendation as to how to best repair the damage. Though he did respond to my emails, he never did make it out to look at the damge or give me any advice. I contacted the original contractor who had installed my expensive floor covering and he came out and fixed the damage. I would use Noa and his crew again but I would spend more time going over the job site and discussing possible problem areas closer."

"We were very pleased with the work done by First Deseret. They always showed when they said they would. They were fast and efficient. The work was excellent and the price was the best of the bids we got. If we have more work to be done, we would have them do the job."

"This company is absolutely the best company I have dealt with in a long time! They show up when they say they will be here and on time. They had a big job to do at our house. We needed part of our driveway and. our sidewalk removed and replaced. They got the job done in the amount of time they quoted us and every single person that worked at our place was so respectful and knowledgeable in what needed to be done. I have referred them to my family for work. They honestly are one of the best out there with workmanship and price. The owner even stopped by after about a month to make sure we were still happy. Awesome people and Awesome Work!!"
An asphalt driveway should last 25 to 30 years, depending on the type of asphalt used, the climate, how well the foundation was prepared, the type of soil under the foundation, and how well you maintain your driveway. Maintaining asphalt by filling cracks and reapplying sealer every few years can help extend the life of your asphalt driveway.
When hiring an asphalt paving contractor to install your driveway, ask as many questions up front as possible. Here are a few questions to ask a prospective driveway contractor:
How many years of experience do you have?
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Do you have worker’s compensation?
Do you use subcontractors on your projects?
Do you clean up after the job is done?
Who is responsible for any damage to lawn or landscaping?
Do you provide a guarantee or warranty on your work?
Do you give free estimates?
What is the timeline for completion?
How do you handle change orders?
Can you provide at least three references?
Can I see some of the work you’ve done?
An asphalt driveway should be at least 3 inches thick over a compacted gravel base. Areas with poor drainage should have a thicker stone base. To install a new asphalt driveway over an existing driveway, the new asphalt should be at least 2 inches thick and the existing driveway should be in relatively good condition.
An asphalt driveway costs about $7 to $15 per square foot, including labor and materials. The cost will vary depending on your location, how thick the base material is, what prep is required, the thickness of the asphalt, and the accessibility of the job site. The national average cost to install an asphalt driveway is about $4,740.

If you need to remove old asphalt before putting down a new driveway, the cost will vary based on the size of the driveway you're removing, the method used to remove asphalt, and whether you hire a pro or try DIY asphalt removal.
