"David and his crew Ives, Victor, and Joseph did a fantastic job stabilizing our foundation. They were focused on the job and came prepared to work. They finished the job quickly and professionally. They communicated with us throughout the entire process. Once they got into the project they were able to identify areas that didn't require the repairs and David quickly explained a new plan and then, with my permission, adjusted the plan which saved us several thousand dollars. I appreciated their honesty and integrity. Thank you Groundworks for training and hiring quality people. Dennis and Ellen Porter"

"Bryan did an outstanding job installing our concrete steps out of our bottom patio pad under our deck of our newly built home! The quality of his work is excellent, and everything turned out exactly how we hoped. He pays attention to the details and takes a lot of pride in what he does. On top of that, his pricing was very fair and competitive. We got several quotes, and Bryan was one of the best-priced contractors without sacrificing quality. He's also one of the hardest-working contractors I've ever met. He never stops working, stays focused on the job, and puts in a full day's work from start to finish. He's friendly, easy to talk to, and always willing to answer questions or explain the process. If you're looking for someone who is honest, dependable, hardworking, and does quality concrete work at a great price, I highly recommend Bryan. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again and will definitely be recommending him to friends and family."

"This was the easiest process. They checked what we wanted, made sure everyone working on it understood and the price they quoted came in under the original once they got into it. Will definitely be hiring these guys again for my next project!"

"Hit us with a 300% price increase. I had already pre-paid through Angie's List for a drain cleaning and camera service. After spending 15 minutes walking all over the house, he insisted on gaining access through a toilet in our upstairs was his only option. That would triple the price. When I said I've cleared this clog myself 3 times and had 2 plumbers do it for less than his new (bait and switch price) quote. The man was abusive, called my 85 year old mother "You're a cheap customer". Not to mention that he said several other derogatory comments to her and myself. Then he had the nerve to call me abusive when I asked him to stop abusing my elderly mother. There are several easy places to access this drain line without pulling a toilet and he knows it., because I showed him all of them. As he left our home, yelling and causing a scene in front of neighbors, my mother pleaded with him to at least snake out the drain for her so she can use her kitchen and so the upstairs resident can use their toilet. He refused. When I reminded him that I had already paid for this service in advance through Angie's List and that I will leave an honest review he said, "You are not a plumber, so you don't know what you are talking about. I can easily counter your review... We know what come back to use for anything you can throw at us." Even knowing that my mother (the homeowner) is old and living on a fixed income, did not move him. He drove away without performing any service, even though I have already pre-paid. When a promise is made for a price and the promisor accepts money in exchange, a contract is made. The offer becomes the contract terms, and the purchaser has fulfilled his obligation. They don't seem to get that point. He claimed the quoted amount only applied when there was "open access". Nonetheless, the offer doesn't state "open access" anywhere including the fine print. We have open access, as they well know because I already had removed the pipes and obstructions in the kitchen when I tried to snake it out myself by hand. There are several access points upstream from this clog that don't require pulling a toilet or going in from the roof."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

The cost of installing landscape drainage with the help of a professional can vary widely depending on factors like the scope of the project, your location, and the specific services needed. Smaller tasks, such as installing a French drain, may range from $10 to $50 per linear foot, while more extensive projects like installing a catch basin can cost several thousand dollars to tens of thousands. Obtaining multiple quotes from qualified professionals is recommended to get a precise estimate for your specific drainage issue.

Most sump pumps come with power cords that can be plugged into an outlet, but there are options that can be hardwired into a home’s electrical system. Either way, it’s smart to have a backup power supply in case the electricity goes out during a storm. That way, the sump pump can keep running and removing water from the sump pit.

Almost any kind of home can have a wine cellar or cabinet installed. You’ll need an area where a concrete floor can be put in, along with the necessary insulation, climate control, and ventilation systems. If you think of yourself as an aspiring sommelier, an underground wine cellar may be ideal, but it will cost significantly more.

What you choose to install really depends on your budget and how many bottles you’re looking to store.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.
