"Me and my wife just moved into our condo home and we wanted some carpets cleaned but this was last minute so we called RJs Professional Steam Cleaning and they were able to book us in there busy schedule and mind you we live in Bountiful which was really far but they made the drive and cleaned our carpets for a reasonable price. I highly recommend them and theyâ  re very polite and professional. And they also power washed my garage and drive way. Iâ  m so happy they made time and did a wonderful job. Plus my carpets smell good and I am satisfied with their work. Thank you again RJs."

"Edgar called promptly. He was on time and the job was bid fairly. He did not exceed the bid. He was friendly and professional. I had opened up a wall and he patched a missing piece of carpet, 4inches by 5feet. He also glued down the carpet where I had french doors installed. I would definately hire him again."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

You may be able to use super glue in a pinch to fix your carpet, but expect the repair to last only a short time. Super glue isn't designed for carpet, so over time, it'll break down, and the carpet piece will move out of place. For the best results, go to the store and grab a bottle of carpet seam glue.

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.

Use baking soda and vinegar or shaving cream to fix your carpet stains. But if you prefer a quicker solution, rent a carpet shampooer and use an enzyme-based cleaner to treat and resolve your discolored carpet issue.

Deciding whether to clean or replace your carpet depends on its condition and age. If cleaning no longer resolves issues, it's time to consider a replacement. Key signs that you need to replace your carpet include:

  • Stains that are impossible to remove.

  • A persistent smell that lingers even after cleaning.

  • An increase in allergy symptoms.

  • The age of the carpet. Most manufacturers state that carpets should last about 10 years with proper care.

When cleaning is no longer effective, you should replace the carpet with a new one or consider other flooring options like vinyl or laminate.
