"Eathen was fantastic to work with. These guys helped me design and create a beautiful oasis backyard and the final result was stunning. Eathen specifically was extremely professional, friendly and most importantly he was helpful. They worked with me on the design and had excellent suggestions while keeping it low pressure, and within the budget constraints. I would absolutely recommend South horizon landscape!"

"First of all, it was very quick to setup an appointment with them. Second, they do two weeks inter fulls of spraying. Meaning, they do the first week of spraying inside and outside and then return in two weeks. Right now we have a week left before they come back to follow up. When they come inside your home, they do every room and there isnâ t any smell. On the outside they go inside the garage, around the home and wherever the nest maybe for the ants. They will do the very same thing when they return. In the meantime, we havenâ t seen any ants."

"James was on time, gave a lot of great advice, and showed interest in doing the job. He would explain why he was doing everything, he was very transparent with the whole process. He was great with follow up too, even checked in a couple times after the work was done. Great all around, I couldn't be happier with the whole project. I would refer him to anyone."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Foxtail grass is not native to the United States, so it is considered an invasive plant. Giant foxtail originated in eastern Asia, Green foxtail is native to Europe, and Yellow foxtail is native to Eurasia. This grass variety is one of many common invasive plant species that you should keep out of your yard and garden beds as much as possible.

No, it’s not necessary to remove all the leaves from your lawn—in fact, leaving some behind can be beneficial. While it's important to clear thick layers of leaves that can smother your grass, leaving a light scattering of leaves can help feed your soil while also providing safe winter habitat for pollinators like bumble bees. Leftover leaves will eventually break down, enriching the soil and promoting healthy lawn growth.

No, you shouldn’t vacuum artificial grass, particularly if you lay your synthetic grass with infill. Vacuuming could suction it up and loosen the connection between the grass and the ground.

Small amounts of geese are actually good for the environment. They help spread seeds and lead to more plant growth, but they’re often an invasive species, particularly Canadian geese. This means a small gaggle can quickly grow into a level that litters your lawn with bald patches and excrement.

It’s possible to over-mulch leaves. If the leaf mulch is thick enough that it’s blocking and smothering the grass, that’s a problem. Ideally, you should still be able to see the grass when you’re done mulching to ensure its ability to continue growing. The solution is to make another pass at the top layer of leaf mulch to collect some of the top layer.
