5 Star Kitchen and Bath
5 Star Kitchen and Bath
5 Star Kitchen and Bath puts our customers wants and needs first, we do everything we can to provide you with a remodel that you want and deserve.
"I would like to preface this review with two things: 1. 5 star offers a discount on their work if you leave a good review, be weary of what you read on here. 2. We have had this company complete both a kitchen and a bath remodel. The issues I will bring up were consistent with both of these jobs. During both of our remodels, the biggest complaints I had were communication and quality. Two big components that a company should really pride themselves on if they cared about their customer base. Communication for our projects failed at almost every step of the way. The conversations had between us and the salesman were great, and then almost every single interaction that was not only had between us and the company but the company within themselves was comically poor. Some examples include: 1. Being told we would have a project manager come to our house prior to the project to check out our attic for structural questions (no one ever came before they started knocking down walls) 2. There were days workers would show up when we didn't know they were coming and not show up on days we were told they were supposed to be there. Not to mention the tile workers who had their truck parked outside our house from 8-5 but stayed in there late and left early to smoke. 3. Several unanswered/not returned calls and texts from the project managers. The only time the office reached out to tell us about something? When the bill was "due" even though our project wasn't complete yet. 4. Our salesman saying a project would take 3 weeks when in reality, it's been 3.5 months and there are still issues. 5. Anytime we asked the current workers what the plan was for the next day or really anything, they NEVER knew. They didn't know who was going to be working, they didn't know when, and they didn't know on what. 6. Several of the workers telling us point blank that their fellow workers screwed up and did things wrong. Good thing we caught it I guess? 7. Tile was about to be installed until I noticed it was not the right time, and the workers had no idea and they didn't know what tile they were actually supposed to put down or in what pattern. Then tile had to be ordered, delaying us even further. 8. The list goes on and on. It's as though no one in the company ever talks to each other, or their customer, and we're left trying to put the pieces together. Secondly, their quality of work is not worth what you pay, not even close. There has not been a single thing that they've done that we haven't had to ask them to fix or redo. This adds time to the project, financial strain on us as customers, and not to mention the stress of constantly acting as a project manager. We have had MAJOR things need to be redone (I'm talking walls needing to be taken apart and rebuilt, cabinet and ceiling painting, relocating outlets, and an ENTIRE SHOWER FLOOR), as well as other things (paint chipped walls, bad putty jobs, grout crumbling, paint splattered inside and outside the house and on and on) and all of it was because no one from their team cares enough to do it right the first time. The pictures I will include show *finished* products that they think are appropriate to leave as a job well done. Not only that, but just this last time when pointing out that the glass they had "special ordered" was actually measured wrong and therefore our shower door is crooked, I was told that my "OCD will just have to live with it." This company is not worth your time or effort. I would never recommend them to anyone."

"Mike, the owner of Granite City Interiors, is a fraud. Do not let him touch your kitchen. He talks a big talk but he does not know what he is doing, and he is the type of person who can look at the blue sky and tell you it's red and make you believe it. He is not a cabinet guy even though he asserts that he is. The positive reviews on here are from a time when there was another owner who knew cabinets, but he is no longer there. Mike is trying to keep that revenue coming in, but is clearly incompetent for the job. The first week of July he committed to do our cabinets for our kitchen as part of a home remodel. He confidently assured us he could match the pictures and he showed he understood exactly what we wanted as we pointed out specifics piece by piece with pictures that we provided him. He committed to having the job done by 8/6/20. It is now 9/4/20, and the kitchen is nowhere near finished. What's worse, the work that has been done is visibly sloppy even to the layman (see pictures posted). Mike has stated that he would give us our money back, but then stated via text, when we followed up, asking for him to remove the cabinets that didn't match our agreement, and give our money back, "Not going to happen guys!! (see screenshots of our text exchanges). The last time Mike was supposed to come meet us to discuss how to fix the problem, he did not show up, which was typical. We texted him asking for his ETA, to which he replied with a text containing two photos: 1) a picture of stitches on his arm, and 2) a picture of a wrecked car. He said that he couldn't make the meeting because he'd just gotten into a car accident (this was the second time he actually used getting into a car accident as an excuse for not showing up.) The picture of his stitches did not look fresh, nor did he look like he was in a hospital. We looked at the meta data and could clearly see that the picture was taken over two years ago. The picture of the wrecked car was from a month ago (see pictures posted). This was not the first time he had lied to us. But it was the first time we called him out, followed by a request that he refund our money to us and discontinue the project (we have paid him $13k for the horrific job he has done thus far). I've attached photos of the entire text conversation. I've also attached photos of the horrible hack of a job he did. The man is not only wholly incompetent, he's dishonest. If you'd like to discuss my experience, I'd be happy to. (801) 36eight-419seven."

FAQs for cabinet refacing and refinishing projects in Erda, UT
The cost of cabinet refacing is $7,230 on average. However, it's possible to pay between $1,200 and $16,000 for this project. Factors like the number of cabinets and the refacing materials impact the total cost significantly.
For example, plastic laminate is the most cost-effective cabinet option for refacing, costing $1,000 to $3,000. If you're looking for solid wood cabinets, you can expect to pay more, ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 on average for refacing.
The difference between cabinet refinishing vs. cabinet refacing is that the latter involves replacing most of the cabinet components, whereas the former only freshes the exterior look of the cabinetry.
Cabinet refinishing involves the cabinetry being disassembled, cleaned, and sanded, then a new finish, like paint or glaze, is applied. You can refinish the cabinet doors or go further and refinish the cabinet boxes, too.
Cabinet refacing involves replacing the majority of the cabinet materials, including the cabinet, drawer doors, and hardware. In this process, a veneer is applied over the existing cabinet boxes to make them look new.
The cost to refinish cabinets is $3,000 on average. However, this cost can range from $700 to $6,000, depending on the size and location of the cabinets, the refinishing method, and number of cabinets.
Staining your cabinet doors is the most cost-effective option, costing between $4 and $10 per square foot. However, if you choose to glaze them, that price jumps to $10 to $25 per square foot.
While it’s possible to reface or refinish kitchen cabinets yourself, it requires substantial time, money, and sweat equity. In particular, cabinet refacing requires many tools and materials, costing you between $1,645 and $6,570, depending on what you already own. Besides that, this is a project that shows imperfections easily. If carpentry isn't your strong suit, hiring a cabinet professional is best to ensure high-quality results.
To prepare for cabinet refinishing or refacing, it’s important to remove all items from the cabinetry in question. In addition, clear any clutter from the room, whether it's the kitchen, bathroom, or otherwise. Be sure to have additional cabinet materials, such as cabinet hardware, lights, and glass inserts, ready for your cabinet installer to use.
Finally, if you have pets, ensure they are in a safe, separate location away from your cabinet professionals, who will bring materials in and out of your home during the process.
