The first time, my dog set it off because I had a motion-detection monitor in a place that wasn't high enough. The second time, I accidentally triggered the alarm myself while at home. The monitoring service called me, I provided the passcode to prove it was me and everything was alright, and the police were not notified. So this basically works just like any costly alarm service -- with the same level of quality, professionalism and customer service -- but is far less expensive.
