"Derek and team did a tremendous job with our ~1500 sq ft home, it feels like a totally different place inside. Derek was incredibly professional. He took the job with no down payment, did the work while we were out of town on vacation, stayed communicative and even sent some pictures for us to review. He was patient with my wife picking colors, and even sent a color consultant to our place to help us decide on the right colors for our project. We spotted a few very minor things to touch up after the walk through, and he sent someone out the next day, no questions asked. I will hands down hire DHC again for any future painting projects."

"Paint project was completed as scheduled and at a reasonable price. The paint quality is outstanding, building surface prep was great, (no paint on the brick work or any other areas), and the paint application to surfaces was really well done. I would hire them again for another future project."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

One of the most significant benefits of hiring a professional painter is that they complete the task faster and better. Generally, it takes about a day to paint a room, depending on dry time. If you're painting your entire house or the exterior of your home, that's a lot of time spent with a paintbrush in hand. Outsourcing this project to a painting pro will save you countless hours.

Other benefits of hiring a professional painter include:

  • Quality experience with painting

  • Assistance with choosing colors

  • Using the right tools for the job

  • Extensive product knowledge

There are times when you should remove all exterior paint before repainting. This includes when you need to get rid of lead-based paint (which should be done by a pro), or if you need to apply a different finish than what’s already there. Your house may also have too many pre-existing layers of old paint, in which case you’ll be better off getting rid of the old layers first.

Yes, WD-40 can be used to remove dried paint, including spray paint, from surfaces like metal because it acts as a solvent. To use this method, spray enough WD-40 to completely cover the paint and let it sit for five to ten minutes. Afterward, gently scrub the area with a cloth to remove the paint. Be aware that this method might leave behind a greasy film that can attract dirt.

Yes. It's another reason many people choose to use the spray over an adhesive, as they can change patterns or remove it entirely with ease if they choose. You can use acetone with a rag or a vinegar and water solution (1/2 cup of vinegar to 12 ounces of water) with a cloth to help you scrub away frosted spray glass. NEVER mix these two methods together, though, and always work in a well-ventilated area.

While the above methods will help you remove paint from tiles, you may need to take a different approach to get rid of grout haze. If you’ve recently applied the grout, you may be able to wipe it off with a wet cloth. Otherwise, you can try removing it with a rubber grout float, spraying it with a mixture of four parts water to one part vinegar, or using a store-bought grout haze remover.
