Wait at least 48 hours before taking a shower in your newly painted bathroom. Even if the paint feels dry to the touch, it needs time to fully cure and resist the high humidity from a hot shower. While we can’t stop you, we don’t recommend using ceiling paint on walls. Ceiling paint is designed to be flat and less durable, which means it won’t stand up well to scrubbing or regular contact. It’s often limited in color selection. If you’re painting a low-traffic area, such as a closet, ceiling paint might work in an absolute pinch. But for most walls, it’s worth using a more durable, wall-specific formula.

One of the best ways to get paint to stay on a plastic surface is by removing old, peeling paint from your plastic surface and cleaning the plastic. Once you’ve cleaned the surface thoroughly, you can prime it with a plastic paint primer, wait for it to cure, and then apply high-quality paint that manufacturers have designed specifically for plastic surfaces.
