"Started off good but as time progressed got worse. Lawn guys ran over out tree concrete trim and destroyed it. Ran over our telephone pedestal and left it. Would rinse themselves off after mowing and left the water faucet on. After we had wrapped it for winter they unwrapped and left the wrapping off. Contract stated brush piles would be picked up and weren't. Had contacted several times and six months later after their piles picked up they finally picked up their piles of stuff they left. Would not recommend them. Tree jobs were a different story. They did an excellent job on cutting down trees and cleaning up their mess. Excellent tree people but don't hire for yard work!!!"

The basic method of getting rid of bamboo is continuously watering and cutting it using an axe, pruners, or mower until the roots have been exhausted of their energy stores. We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

You can remove a small tree from your yard if there’s space for the tree to fall, you have the right tools and safety equipment, and you follow a clear plan of action. You’ll just want to follow the steps above carefully, and ideally, you will have experience doing similar tasks. If you have any doubts that you can do this project safely, though, you should hire a pro.
