Receiving no answer, I left a message on the answering machine requesting a callback and briefly explaining the nature of my call. I called again on Friday, 6/01/2012, at 2:49PM and left a similar message. Later that afternoon I received a call from Niki Crew, co-owner, explaining that she had been out of town all week and was just catching up on all of the business messages. After giving the details of my request for a bid, we made a tentative appointment to meet some time on Monday, 6/04/2012. Although she did not make the appointment on Monday, she did call that afternoon and said she would come at about 10:30AM on Tuesday, 6/05/2012. She arrived on time Tuesday and we went over the details of my request and the several options available to me in getting the desired results. I was very impressed with her extensive knowledge of the building materials available, the difference in cost and the requirements needed to qualify the home for windstorm insurance, which is a requirement in my geographic area. I had also inquired about her company's ability to perform some other work (concrete and gutter work) in addition to the siding. She was very open and honest about her limitations in providing a cost on the concrete repairs but said she had someone she could send out to estimate that portion of the job more accurately. Again, I was impressed with her knowledge and attention to details. She agreed to work up a bid and send it to me via e-mail. I received a written bid from her through e-mail just 4 days later on Saturday, 6/09/2012. Although I eventually chose another contractor to do the work, I felt very confident that Capital Crew Construction would have done a very good job had I chosen them. I would not hesitate to call them again for any future repair or construction work and would recommend them to anyone else needing their services. She replied that the owner's brother, Lance Barnett had just walked in and I could speak to him about it. After explaining again the details of my request for an estimate, Mr. Barnett made an appointment with me to come out on Monday, 6/04/2012, with no specific time mentioned. He told me he would call me again Monday before he came. When Monday arrived, Mr. Barnett never called or came by and I received no further word from either him or his office. Since I had made appointments with several other companies to come and give me bids, I did not call Barnett Construction a second time. This mirrored a similar experience I had with Mike Barnett Construction in 2009 when I attempted to get a bid for pouring a concrete driveway - again an appointment had been made but no one showed up. I feel that if the company representative(s) cannot be relied on to keep an appointment, then I could probably expect the same attitude from them in any work they might perform. I will NOT be contacting them for any future work, nor would I recommend them to anyone else. Not due to weather. The deck was to be built on the first day giving the concrete time to set, then completed on the second day. They didn't arrive on the first day until very late at night and decided they could get it finished in one day. The skirting was set directly on the ground. Post holes were concreted half way and never filled back in. Extra dirt was left piled up under decking boards. The deck staining was done about a foot in until the gazebo was completed. Some of the side panels are out of plumb. The \"door\" was made out of one of the side panels. It measured 51\". It was so large it made you enter on the side of the step. Roofing had exposed staples and plywood near the top of the first section. A majority of the spindles were not flush with the top and bottom railing. Where the joist went into the panels, left a large triangle shaped gap. The stain on the upper portion was scrapped and peeling in many areas. No pre-drilling, so there was many splits at the end of boards and slip through screws coming out of boards. The owner came ill-prepared, with not all the hardware, paint and labor. He thought he could drive into the next larger city and pickup illegal alien help. Never could find any help. My husband and brother-in-law had to help get the second section of roof up. Couldn't finish on the first day. I asked that he put roofing tar on the exposed staples. Some he did, many he didn't. The touch up staining was done directly over the peeling without sanding or scraping. They didn't use a primer, there is a lot of bleed through of knots and the green treating. They couldn't finish on the second day either. He said he wouldn't take the final payment until he came back to finish, which would be in a couple of days. Or, I finished it myself, with him paying me to do so. I decided I paid him to do the job and I really didn't want to finish it. He called back a couple of days later asking for part of the final payment and said he would come back the following Monday and finish on Tuesday. He showed up late Monday afternoon had phone problems and left soon after. He did arrive early on Tuesday. The deck stain was applied on top of sand, over-lapped stained in spots and is splashed on the white. Some places, wood still shows. When he fixed the exposed roof decking he didn't bother to tuck the shingle under the ridge caps. The gazebo is held to the deck with 8 wood screws. He told me verbally he would use hurricane clips. My husband and I used 24 tubes of caulk to fill in gaps and seams. I framed in a new door and cut down the large one. It now looks like a real screen door. My husband will correct the roofing. And now I plan on Kilzing and painting it all over again. I may have to sand and re-stain the deck. The gazebo will need to bolted to the deck for stability. When I complained of these things he just kept repeating he had built over 1200 of these."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/farmersville/the-gazebo-and-pergola-factory-reviews-7659782.htm"},"position":10}]}

They showed up on time, as expected and were very thorough in their work. Price was exactly what he quoted. When we did have an adjustment due to changes we made, he clearly laid them out for us first before starting the additional work. First concrete contractor that was professional...
Arrived on time and date expected. Went to work immediately and were conscious of concerns from myself and my wife about interior work. Worked inside considering personnel effects in a good manner. Well pleased. After house was raised, an engineer was called to inspect the job and backfill,...

"My wife and I purchased a home from Curtis in Port Neches . In less than a year we have had to remodel both bathrooms , replace a refrigerator that we were told was new , had to have cracks in the sheet rock fixed throughout ceilings and walls , completely redo a pool that we were told was just refinished only to find out he patched himself and painted . We have found ceramic tiles that only had mortar around the edges and no mortar under . The living room and kitchen were made an open concept and no beam in the ceiling was added . Electrical sockets not working randomly throughout the house . Bay doors from our room to the back patio leak. This has caused my wife and I a ton of stress after the repairs of leaking pipes in the guest bathroom we will be at nearly 50,000 dollars in repairs we have taken on in a house that were were told was taken down to studs and remodeled will everything new by Curtis himself . He was cordial in the beginning and offered knowledge then quit returning calls . I wouldn’t hire Curtis or his company for ANYTHING !"

FAQs for decorative concrete service projects in Wildwood, TX
No, stamped concrete is extremely durable and relatively easy to maintain. To keep your stamped concrete clean and help prevent staining, you should sweep any debris off it regularly, like you would with any other hard outdoor surface. You should also plan on resealing the concrete about every four years, which is about the same timeline you’d expect from pavers and natural stones.
The average cost of stamped concrete is around $12 per square foot, but you might pay anywhere from $8 to $28 per square foot. The average 12-foot by 12-foot patio costs $1,730 on average. Your exact pricing will depend on the patio’s square footage, the condition of the area where you want to pour the concrete, the desired stamp pattern, concrete coloring, concrete grade, and local labor prices. Don’t forget to budget for extra costs like land preparation and additional concrete fortifications if necessary.
Adding a stamped concrete patio is an affordable way to bring some elegance into your backyard entertaining area, which could add to your home’s value. Provided your stamped concrete patio is installed by a local stamped concrete professional, the patio should last for 40 years or more, and prospective buyers will likely recognize value in that longevity. Keep in mind that permanent patios like concrete slabs will likely raise property taxes, but the added value is usually well worth the investment.
Many concrete companies that handle installing concrete slabs or standard concrete patios can also install stamped concrete, but you can also hire a company that specializes in stamped concrete. These textured concrete surfaces take some finesse to get right, and choosing a company that concentrates on stamped concrete patios and walkways is a good way to ensure the finished product looks top-notch. Additionally, specialists in stamped concrete will likely have more texture options that suit your preferences, like riverstone, sandstone, yorkstone, and cobblestone.
It’s possible to create stamped concrete yourself, but we don’t recommend it and it’s often not cost-effective. It’s easy to mess up the pattern of a stamped concrete patio or walkway, leaving you with an unsightly home exterior rather than the elegant solution you wanted. Any mistakes made during the ground leveling and concrete pouring process will also increase the risk of cracks forming on your concrete. Additionally, buying enough stamps to get the pattern in before your concrete cures can cost as much as hiring a professional to do the work for you.
