Spoke to Rick Miller at 9 AM, he said he was busy and would “call right back”. Didn’t call me back until 4:30 PM. Given that the first question I asked was what day / time he could give me a quote. Mr Miller was annoyed when I asked that. He told me that I could “******* find someone else.” I will & I recommend you all do to. Don’t recommend.

When it rains the water drains back toward the house and screened patio, instead of running off in the yard. The water stands until I sweep it off the patio. The 2'x2' squares of concrete never completely set. So I have concrete with pits and continues to erode. When I sweep there is sand coming loose. Water has gotten in the room several times when it rains hard. I called Rick and told him about the concrete eroding and he said I must have put a cleaning solution on it before it set, which I did not put anything on it. After that he would not answer my calls or return my messages. It is people like this that give contractors a bad name.
Description of Work: Rick Miller built a 22'x16' brick patio. The patio was 2'x2' squares filled with colored cement bordered with bricks.

Response from Brick Solutions
I Rick Miller with Brick Solutions did perform the job as stated. As discussed with the home owner; In 2008, we dug out and prepared the ground for the concrete patio, directly under a covered awning. The concrete was poured well below the threshold going into the house. During the concrete pour I had asked the homeowner to keep his dogs put up and not allow them to step on the concrete for 24 hours, allowing time for the concrete to set up. We poured the concrete squares on a Friday and returned to the job on Monday for a final inspection upon completion. Upon arriving, myself and two employees noticed several dog prints in the concrete, and what appeared as though someone had attempted to remove the dog prints. I have been in the masonry field of construction working on residential as well as large commercial construction jobs. In saying that, it appeared as though someone had attempted to remove the dog prints with a wire brush and spraying water, and/or a cleaning solution of some sort. When I addressed the homeowner with this, he stood with a blank face and had no response. He did call me back several weeks later to look at the concrete, as he had stated that he had washed it and it was eroding. Upon returning to the job, I did discuss with the homeowner that a sealer could be used on the concrete to help stop the erosion, but if he had compromised the curing process it was out of my hands. He never stated that he was having water drainage issues at that time or any other time. No other contact was made between the homeowner and I after this.
