He took several of my items to an auction in West Texas. Things like Indian artifacts, a statue pair, a deer lamp I made, a Tiffany lamp, and several cowboy hats and boots, and an expensive leather jacket that was never worn. He returned most of the items ruined. The two Indian Statues had a chip. He brought back the deer horn lamp with a nasty scratch on the shade. The brand new leather jacket had scratches on it. He sold the Tiffany lamp at a cheaper price (He claimed it was broken, which it wasn't). He said he would make good on the damage he caused, but he never did.
When he came back, he started to take inventory my glass (I've operated a stained glass business for 40 years, my garage was loaded with stained glass and supplies). He was supposed to sell items in my house that I was thinking about moving, and possibly the house itself. But I decided I wasn't going to sell the house, I'm going to let my daughter make that decision. That disappointed him. He had me moving several items outside (Even though I'm on oxygen). Come to find out, he sold several objects on the internet without my permission. Then he wanted a very expensive turtleback Tiffany lamp. I told him I wanted $400 for it. He said his helper wanted to buy it, but if not that he would buy it. When he totaled everything up in the end, there was a 30% taken off the price for the lamp.
When everything was said and done, he gave me a check for $1348. The check was not signed. I contacted him to get him to sign it. He said that I could sign his name for him. He provided a check the next week when I refused to forge his signature. Then I called him about compensating me for the damages. He thought I was griping too much so he dropped out of the auction, which was fine with me. But I was left with a 12'x60' POD that was 3/4 full of things that he took out of the garage to make room to sell the glass, and he told me that it is up to me to take care of it. I had to hire someone to help me empty that POD to return it on time, which made it very difficult on me. I hope no one would have to experience what I have through this Auctioneer. I am now very leery about using ANY auctioneer."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/port-bolivar/baker-auction-svc-reviews-4272367.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Spring Lawn Service","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"JOHN H."},"reviewBody":"
This company was recommended to me by two other people that had dealings with Pedro. He was the first contractor I have hired to do work for my home. Even though his bid was the lowest, the work was top notch. He and his crew came in cool or rainy weather, kept the site clean, used local suppliers for materials and made proper efforts to keep the property from damage. I was impressed with his use of building materials to build the ramp and stairs. In addition to the retaining wall, he made a circle around my tree and culvert wall using the same block. Neighbors have also commented on the quality and speed of the work done.
I waited 6 months to review Pedro's work to see how the retaining wall would stand up to settling, weather and use.
I will also be using Pedro for future deliveries of firewood too.
The one change I will be making to the construction is to glue the top course down and to add a top row of a different color.

They are very professional, do very good quality work, and their prices are more than fair. For those who don't buy their tires there, they offer flat repairs at no charge. That's how they got our business in the first place. We have been going to them regularly for over 5 years and wouldn't consider going anywhere else for our tires. The salesperson continually made promises about scheduled appointments and calls that never happened. When work finally began the first comments from the crew were all about the salesman under estimating the cost and time necessary to complete the job. Although the crew was very nice and I appreciated their honesty, they basically told me that they were told to wrap it up one way or the other because they didn't have the time and they were going to lose money on the project. A week after they were supposed to finish, they were still working...showing up in the evenings and finally finishing on a weekend when I was away and couldn't verify the final work. Upon return I found the finish to be hastily and shoddily applied, missing nails and screws, loose screws had led to the skin already buckling. And, the glass in the upper window has broken out, obviously due to the frame being applied incorrectly. I also expected them to clean up the work area, but they didn't, leaving broken and whole cinder blocks scattered around the building. I paid the final balance simply to be done with them as I couldn't trust them to come back out and make the necessary repairs and I don't have the time or patience for small claims court. I got online and googled furniture longview texas and found Maness Furniture downtown, I called and they had the suite I wanted, when I got to the store I was greated at the door, taken to the suit I had asked about is it was cheaper than the first one I saw by 50 dollars. They said they could deliver it right now, they keep 3 trucks and 6 delivery people at the store. I have never bought anything so easy, I'm 60 years old and people always over look me. I work hard and have never asked for anything in my life. If felt good to have someone respect and understand me. They were very polite and did wonderful work and clean. They made sure to cover everything and blocked off rooms they were working in to keep dust out of my house.

The driver was great and took care of the car. He called and kept me posted on when he would pick up the car. We met him 2 blocks from our home. He did a fabulous job. We will definitely use Executive if we ship another car. They were very quick, affordable and reliable.

FAQs for glass block service projects in White Oak, TX
Maintains privacy while letting light into the bathroom
Energy efficient
Sealed to prevent drafts
Aesthetically pleasing

Cons
Costly to install
Challenging installation
Challenging repair
Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.
The average cost to install glass block windows is about $710, ranging from $460 to $1,000, depending on the size and design of the window, installation type, and location.
Different styles of glass blocks also impact the cost:
Clear glass blocks: $10–$30 per block
Colored glass blocks: $25–$40 per block
Acrylic glass blocks: $15–$25 per block
Wavy glass blocks: $10–$30 per block
Alpha glass blocks: $15–$25 per block
Ice glass blocks: $20–$35 per block
Diamond glass blocks: $20–$75 per block
Frosted glass blocks: $30–$35 per block
Typically, glass block windows last about 15 to 30 years, slightly less than regular windows, which last 20 to 50 years. Resealing glass blocks can help extend the lifespan of this bathroom feature. The key to ensuring that glass block windows last as long as possible is to have a professional glass block installer place them. Glass block pros will have the skills, tools, and knowledge required to install these special features into any space, noting obstacles like damaged windows or too-cramped areas during the consultation.
Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.
