Had it not rained on the 15 they would have cut it down that day. It took one day to bring down a huge oak tree in my back yard that sat very close to a fence between my house and my neighbors house. They came back the next day to grind the stump. They were very professional, polite and cleaned up afterwards. I was very impressed with the workmanship and would hire them again. The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. For instance, vertical surfaces last longer than horizontal surfaces. Some types of woods, like dense hardwoods, will require a recoat yearly, as they are too dense for the stain to absorb. In any event, apply a recoat every 2 to 4 years. As for storage, a can of unopened stain can last up to 5 years, though results may vary.

You should inspect the area regularly for rust, clean it with a wire brush, repaint it every few years, and apply a protective sealant to prevent corrosion.
