As the job progressed, things got worse. We were having family come in on a certain date for a baby shower, I told the contractor that the work needed to be finished before then so that we could prepare for company. He was still here working as the family arrived. Worked progressed at a slow rate because the contractor fired his one subordinate in the middle of the job. He later hired another person to help him finish the job. Eventually the contractor hired another person to install the tile surround in the bathroom. The Kitchen The contract specified that the old cabinets were to be hauled off as part of the job. After the cabinets had been removed, I asked that the contractor wait a day while I asked a relative if they wanted the old ones. I told the contractor that the relative did NOT want them, and cabinets were never removed. This responsibility is directly listed in the contract/bid. At the end of the contract, I was promised on several different occasions that workers were coming to remove the cabinets. This was a lie, no one ever came, and later, after filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the contractor stated that he didn't want to return because he felt "awkward". I can only guess that the contractor felt awkward because he hadn't finished his job. During the last week of work, he had apparently driven a nail through a pipe in the back bathroom, which in turned caused a slow water leak that seeped up through the floors. To his credit, he did hire a cleaning crew to clean the carpet. During the remodel, we decided to up the cost (despite having gone well over budget at this point) and have a tile backdrop placed in the kitchen. Part of this deal was that the tile would be sealed. This was never completed. In addition, the new counter top required two end caps. The contractor ordered these, stated they were on back order, and then never got around to picking them up or installing them. As the job came to a close, the contractor decided not to answer my phone calls, or return to complete the items listed on the contract. Full Bath The work on the bathrooms was satisfactory, except for the tile surround. The grout where the tub meets the tile immediately started to come loose. We were informed that this was normal and that he would re-grout and re-caulk the area. This never happened, because after asking for his final payment ( as most of the work was done and he said he'd be back to finish up the little things) , the contractor never showed back up, and would not answer our phone calls. This led to yet another problem. Apparently the contractor never paid this subcontractor for his work, so this man showed up at our doors several times with an invoice asking to be paid for his work. I promptly called Mr. Deville and told him about the situation. After cursing about "Mexicans" his response was... "what do you want me to do about it". At this point I also addressed the unfinished tasks, I was assured that someone would come out on Monday to haul off the kitchen cabinets. No one ever came, and from that point on, he would not answer my phone calls. Half-Bath The work on the half bath was unacceptable. The toilet, to this day, still wobbles. In response to a complaint we made to the Better Business Bureau, Mr. Deville blamed us for the toilet wobbling, suggesting that we must be doing something to it. In addition, after the fiasco where the water had seeped up through the floor, one piece of tile doesn't want to stick. In Closing Mr. Deville, after receiving his final payment with the promise that he would return to finish out what he called a "punch out" list, he would not even return our phone calls. Deville's defense against this is by saying that we kept "adding" to this punch out list. Apparently pointing out things like loose grout, unsealed tile, asking for paint colors so that we could touch up and other unfinished tasks that he was contracted to finish is "adding" to the job. It was clear that Mr. Deville was ready to move on to his next job and had no intention of returning to finish, leaving us with several unfinished tasks. (one other note: We agreed to pay half up front to contractor and half when he finished. Half way through the job, he asked for half of the last payment.) After reading other reviews of Mr. Deville's work, it is clear that this is how he operates. He finishes the majority of the job, goes over budget, asks for final payment, and then never returns.
They did an awesome job, the top of the house/roof looks great!

FAQs for roof ice and snow removal projects in Vidor, TX
Generally, snow removal from a roof should occur once over six inches of snow accumulates, especially if you notice that ice dams have formed. Without ice dams, you can let the snow accumulation hit 12 inches before removing it. However, the amount of snow that is too much for your roof also depends on the sturdiness of your roof and the compactness of the snow. If your roof needs maintenance or has structural issues, it’s best not to let the snow accumulate too much for fear of collapsing.
While it is possible to remove snow from your roof without a professional, we don’t recommend it. Accessing your roof can be a dangerous task; pair that with slippery ice and snow that can be heavy to move, and you have a very risky problem on your hands. This dangerous situation becomes more high-risk when there’s a snowstorm or your roof has a steep pitch. To ensure that everyone stays safe, be sure to call a roof snow removal specialist to complete this job with the proper tools and equipment.
While removing every snowflake from your roof is unnecessary, you should remove a significant buildup of snow. Since snow is wet and heavy, it can easily cause damage to your roof, which can lead to needing costly repairs.
Additionally, when the snow melts but has nowhere to go and refreezes, it can create an ice dam, causing mold concerns due to water leaking into your attic and ceiling. For these reasons, it’s best to hire a snow removal professional to clear heavy snowfall from your roof as soon as possible.
Yes, some homeowners insurance policies cover roof damage caused by snow. However, these full or partial payouts can vary depending on the age of your roof and other related factors, like the overall condition it was in before the snowfall. It’s best to check with your specific homeowners insurance policy to determine snow damage coverage and exclusions.
The cost of removing snow from a roof averages between $300 and $700. However, this cost can range from $200 to $3,000, depending on the size of your roof, the amount of snow, and roof accessibility.
Since snowfall can range from light powder to heavy and condensed snow, part of the price of roof snow removal depends on the amount and type of snow. For 12 inches of snow, you can expect to pay between $200 and $2,000 for this job. However, for 24 inches of snow, that price rises to $300 to $3,000.
