"I read many reviews on Angies List and contacted several painting companies with my needs.  Carlos from Allstar Painting was one of three responses I received that could do the work requested.  Based on reviews and his responsiveness, I gave him the job immediately upon receiving his bid.  This was on a Thursday.  He said he could start on Tuesday and the job would take two days.  I wanted Crown molding in the bathroom and together we contacted a colleague of his to come by and look at the job and give me a bid on the work.  The two got together and worked it out so the job could still be done on the two days. Carlos arrived on time both days, moved the furniture to put down a carpet of paper so that anything tracked in would be on the paper. He removed the bathroom door, blinds, and proceeded to tape, float and texture the walls.  Some caulking was required and he also did that.
We decided on a paint color together.  He actually changed my mind about the color I had selected.  The second day he arrived on time and got started on painting the ceiling before the trim man arrived.  When he did arrive, the two of them worked together in harmony to get the the trim and crown molding put up. After the trim man left, Carlos finished up the job. He pulled up the 'carpet of paper', cleaned up the bathroom, and left things very neat.  I couldn't be more pleased with his professionalism and a job well done.  I definitely recommend him highly if you have painting needs.  He is a really nice man, too!

"I am extremely happy with our master bathroom remodel and with the service that we received. From start to finish, my husband and I felt taken care of (and we're generally not people that are easily impressed). I believe what sets Derek apart is a triple threat of carpentry expertise, design expertise, and great customer service. Here's a detailed look at my experience with Derek McGill and the Prestigious Home Designs crew:
I wanted a bathroom design that leaned more on the contemporary side and it was important for me to find someone that could emulate that while being a knowledge-expert in their craft. With that said, Derek and his team can do anything -- from traditional natural stone (very popular in a lot of North Texas homes) to more contemporary styles, like mine. After listening to my list of must-haves, Derek offered some additional ideas I hadn't considered and shared that he would be supplying a digital sketch of my new design along with the quote. Of all of the quotes that I received, Derek was the only contractor to provide a digital sketch -- very helpful in visualizing the final result.
When we received our initial quote, my husband and I were pleased to see that every aspect of the remodel was line-itemed out with an associated price next to it. The majority of the other quotes I received were a final number with no explanation as to how the price was derived. In some respects we were in a little over our heads so Derek offered to meet with us 1:1 to discuss each line-item and how we might bring the price down to meet our budgetary needs. This was a big selling point for us from a customer service standpoint because we felt like he was still committed to our overall-design with the solutions that he offered.
When work began, I was very impressed with his crew. I cannot tell you how many times someone has come to our house to do any amount of work and been careless. Not so with Prestigious Home Designs. Dropcloths were put down from our entrance to our master bathroom daily and the crew kept their workspace as well as the rest of our house clean. Not only that, but each gentleman arrived on time and was kind and respectful and always willing to answer any question that I had. Along the way, we had two unforeseen water issues stemming from a drainage issue outside as well as from our upstairs bathroom. Derek and his
team did a great job of diagnosing each issue and helping with the repairs and didn't just try to gloss things over with some crappy patch job. These guys have integrity and it's evident in their work.
The best part of the whole experience for me was picking out the tile, bathroom fixtures, and other finishes. Again, Derek has a great eye for design while offering practical advice from his many years of remodels. It was fun for us to bounce our ideas back and forth and we're so, so happy with every tile, cabinet color, drawer pull etc. in our master bathroom.
If you're generally skeptical of contractors (which I am), give Derek McGill and Prestigious Home Designs a shot. Their carpentry, commitment to a great final product and customer service are top-notch.

"When we first contacted Richard, we thought we only needed a couple of cabinet revisions, and a granite countertop.  However, on further inspection, we realized that we needed all new cabinets and a complete remodel.  When Richard arrived to look at the job, we informed him of our change of heart, and he took it right in stride - he listened and immediately understood.  He paid attention to each of the things we wanted, and responded positively to each one.  He brought samples of cabinetry and countertops for us to choose from, he measured that day and sent us a quote and rendering within just a few days.  We asked for a few changes, which he quickly agreed to, we gave him a deposit, and he had his guys begin work that day.  The whole job was done in about 2 weeks - including demolition of  the old cabinets, installation of new cabinets, a new quartz countertop and nice stainless sink, some electrical work including increasing the amps for the new double oven, and installation and testing of all appliances and fixtures.  (We purchased/provided all appliances - the price above includes all labor, along with cabinets, sink, countertop, crown molding, and upgraded stainless sink.)  The workers were excellent - not only did they do a really great job, they had great input on things like how to design the backsplash and how to trim around the fridge.  In addition, they were consistently professional and friendly, and cleaned up after the job.  Richard communicated with us regularly, so we always felt like we knew what was happening.  We are very, very happy with the work - the kitchen is beautiful, and it was done on time and within budget.  We would definitely use Richard from Kitchen Pros again if we ever had a need.
