"Mr. Lopez is my go-to person for all painting and wood construction work. I have hired him for 5+ jobs in the past 10 years. For this latest work, he repainted a 4-bedroom 2-bathroom house (walls only), repainted the exterior house including shutters, trim and door, repaired rotted fascia board on the garage, and rebuilt a wood deck and stained it. What I love about Lopez Painting is his consistency: (1) immediate, fair written estimates (2) ability to schedule the job quickly (3) work gets done thoroughly as it seems he concentrates on one job at a time (4) no subs (5) extremely hard working, works more than a full day (6) cleans up."

"Mr. Lopez was prompt, courteous, professional and his work is amazing. The one thing I worried about the most was that Mr. Lopez would not be able to make the walls looks as good as the original, and was I wrong. After completion of the work which by the way he finished one day early, I could not believe my eyes. I don't know how he did it. but everything looks original. He even painted the wall and matched the color perfectly. Anyone looking for drywall work who wants a nice guy who is reasonably priced, prompt, professional and great at his craft look no further than Jose' Lopez. You will not be disappointed,"

"Removed master bath carpet and terrazzo flooring and replaced with porcelain tile including closets Removed tub and terrazzo surround and build a walk in shower with bench including all plumbing. Removed window and replace with new window. Installed can light over shower. Installed new toiiet
I provided the majority of materials - tile, grout, faucets, toliet, window.
Ivan and his assistant did all the work and completed the job in about 3+ weeks.  They were very good to clean up and minimize the dust and mess.  His tile work is very good and he went to extra effort to straighten out the walls which were not straight.
We did have some additiional charges from original estimate as there was rotted wood framing that had to be replaced, the floor had to be leveled out,, the wall corrections, and tile work took longer than plan/budgeted.  In all the total went up by about $1000 but for the work done was still reasonable..
We had glass doors installed separately.  The bathroom looks great!
I would use this company again.

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

While some people are confident in their ability to replace concrete by drilling out the broken pieces and replacing them with bagged concrete, it’s possible to run into snags that make hiring a professional worth it. Trying to level concrete slabs can require special equipment, which can be pricey to rent and tough to operate. It's also crucial to contact your town's municipal office to ensure you are allowed to take on the project without a permit.

Yes, you can apply peel-and-stick wallpaper over wood paneling, but it requires significant preparation for a good result. Peel-and-stick wallpaper has a weaker adhesive than traditional wallpaper and works best on smooth, non-textured surfaces like painted or primed drywall. Because wood paneling is often textured with grooves, any flaws in the underlying surface will likely be visible after application. To prepare the paneling, you must ensure the surface is free of cracks, holes, and protrusions by filling any indentations and sanding rough spots to create a smooth surface. An alternative is to remove the paneling and apply the wallpaper directly to the underlying drywall or plaster, provided it is in good condition.

Wallpaper in bathrooms can last anywhere from one to 10 years, depending on what type was used, how well it was installed, and the measures in place to reduce moisture and humidity levels. Opting for a more durable variety and taking all the necessary protective measures will get you closer to that longer lifespan.

Yes, many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, especially those made of vinyl or polyester. However, its success depends heavily on the level of moisture and ventilation. In bathrooms with good ventilation, such as those with fans, it can be a durable option. Peel-and-stick wallpaper may not adhere as well as traditional wallpaper in very humid conditions. For bathrooms that see a lot of moisture, like a kids' bathroom or a full bath with a steamy shower and poor ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.
