"We hired Frog roofing as Mr. Mande came out as a very genuine person. Right from start he took time to explain everything to us. He does not cut corners and uses the best materials. His team is very professional, they were always on time and cleaned up before they left. Mr. Mande personally made sue his team cleaned up. The work was finished on time. For Mr. Mande, customer satisfaction is very important. When we asked his fence team for some minor changes he sent his guys one more time and made sure we were completely satisfied. We got roofing. Gutters with leaf guard, external painting, cedar fence, windows and solar screens. It is very hard to get good and conscientious contractors these days, we are glad we found Mr Mande."

"The fence is beautiful and solid. Our land is pretty uneven and Andrew was able to successfully follow the topography to male a very secure fence. The gates are extremely well made and solid. This fence has transformed our yard!"

"I live 1 1/2 hours from Dallas. I had 3 large trees (two oak & one cedar) 25-30' tall that died last summer. Two were very close to my house and overhanging my roof. I had got quotes from other companies but they were all too high. I needed a fair quote with prompt & professional service. I was very happy when Reeds Outdoor's Services came and took care of me. I was especially happy with the quality of work. Reed's fell the trees perfectly without a scratch to my house and even cleared out another dozen smaller trees for me on my property. I was extremely happy with Reed's great pricing, professionalism, & quality of work. If you are looking for a great service- I highly recommend Reeds Outdoor Service. They will go anywhere- at anytime- to take care of client. Give Reeds Outdoor's Service a try. You'll be glad you did!"

"Recently had a concrete slab extension and pergola on the back of my home. Got an estimate and worked out design, work was done quickly but thoroughly with my new space turning out to be more beautiful than I had expected! Jeff Chandler was involved in the process every step along the way. I was at work and he took pictures at each step letting me know not only what was being done but providing me with pictures as well for my approval. It feels now as though I have an additional room on the back of my home! Project costs, which were very reasonable and competitive, were as estimated. Yard was cleaned and left as it was before the work was done. This is the third project C&A did for me. They built an entirely new fence to the specs I requested and hung cabinets in my laundry room! Great job on both! I would recommend C&A Construction for any project, knowing the consistency and quality of their work!"

I am a 41 year old corporate executive with a passion for cabinetry-related work that has become my career. \n\nI specialize in cabinet refinishing with a focus on the application of special coatings designed to deliver a glass-like finish on cabinetry, doors, trim, baseboards, etc., using best-in-class equipment and materials. \n\nIf you are in-market for cabinet refinishing, I would strongly recommend that you set some time with me, so we can discuss the different approaches, equipment and material.\n\nYou will leave our conversation with a complete perspective. \n\nI only take on 4 clients per month so there's no sales pressure, just good conversation about your project and some things to think about. \n\nCheers,\n\nSpencer A.

Fencing questions, answered by experts

There is no best color for a vinyl fence, as it truly depends on a homeowner’s aesthetic preference. Classic white is the most popular and widely available of all the vinyl fence colors. However, contemporary black, warm browns, and natural grays are becoming more mainstream. One perk of darker-colored fences is that they are easier to “keep clean,” as in, dirt and debris don’t show up as easily as they would on lighter-colored fences. So if you don’t plan to give your fence regular washings, a dark color like black, gray, or brown would be the best choice.

You can reuse chain link fences as long as they’re in good condition. The best part—reusing it helps you make the most of the cost of a chain link fence. Whether you want to reuse it or consider asking someone to remove it for you in exchange for a free fence, it’s possible. If you can’t find a location for it in your yard, you can repurpose a chain link fence by donating it to a local animal shelter or community garden.

The best type of temporary fencing depends on its intended purpose. For example, if you need it for added security, to ensure the safety of children and animals, or to keep pests out of a garden, the ideal material will differ. For simply warning people away from a construction project, plastic orange fencing may be sufficient. Barricade fencing is a good choice for blocking off small areas. If you need to protect an area from trespassing, theft, or vandalism, more robust security fencing is necessary. Once you understand the primary function, you can select the most durable and cost-effective material for your specific project and yard size.

Green branches are more flexible and easier to work with, but they'll shrink as they dry, which can loosen your fence weave over time—so you'll need to weave them extra tight to account for shrinkage. Some species, particularly willow, may also try to sprout when used green. For these reasons, it’s typically easiest to use branches that have dried for a week or two.

Knowing how close to the property line you can build a fence is an important planning step in your fence installation project. In many U.S. states, you are allowed to build a fence directly on the property line as long as your neighbor signs off on the plan. But check with your state government because some states and municipalities require a couple of inches before your property line.
