"I just want to say a few words about Nathaniel and the crew over at ASW Plasterworks LLC. We are currently building a new home and were looking for a stucco contractor. After endless hours on the internet, I decided to request a contractor on home advisor. The next day I received a call from some guy named Nathaniel. We set up a time and date for him to come over and walk the site to get me a quote on the project. Nathaniel showed up on the agreed time. I have very little knowledge about stucco, except that we are on strict budget. From the minute Nathaniel stepped out of the truck and the whole time he visited the site, he educated me on every aspect of the stucco process, including the various materials used by different contractors and the materials durability (You get what you pay for), we all know that. After he left without a commitment other than he would get back to me with a bid, I got to thinking, he never seemed to be pushy but rather just tried to inform me about stucco processes. Also his honesty and forthcoming about stucco sold me and my wife to hire this contractor, I'm sure glad we did. Nathaniel showed up to the job at the agreed upon time to start, and as I got to know the crew that he had with him, I realized that this was a GOLD MINE of a crew. Any questions that I had were answered right away, and it didn't matter what crewman I asked, and their craftsmanship was superb. Each evening I would walk around the house after the crew left inspecting the work, I would notice how they paid attention to details, such as making sure all the stucco rails were level and plumb and how well the lath was attached to the walls of the house. After ASW finished our house, They did an extra effort on the cleanup and made sure that every inch of the job was 100% complete. It's been a few days since they finished and I can not find a single thing wrong on the whole siding job of this house. Looking down the walls on the outside of the house is flat and true, all the expansion joints are clean and it had made our new house look amazing. Nathaniel, PELON, Brian, and Kenneth are a very rare crew these days. I know all this because I am an ex-contractor, I've been around. So if you are hunting a excellent stucco contractor with very reasonable rates, you need to hire this company, you won't be disappointed. I'll close now by thanking Nathaniel and his crew, and hoping they make all their customers as thrilled and happy as my wife and I are about this work of art they installed on the sides of our house."

Small jobs welcome

"Robertoâ s came to the rescue and finished installing stucco window bands and stucco repairs that was abandoned by another contractor. Roberto and his staff did a superior job of stopping leaks around windows by sealing areas others had missed. When TS Harold passed through and there was another area that needed attention Roberto fixed the issue. I strongly recommend this contractor!!!"

"Paul came out and gave me an estimate for the work I needed to have done which seemed very fair. My house is two stories and at the top of a ridge, and all the scaffolding, ladders and equipment had to be carried down then back up a long outdoor rock staircase. There is always a wind which made power washing and work on the scaffolding and ladders difficult. Paul had all my windows and outdoor furniture covered and power washed all surfaces to be painted. The facia, soffit, shutters and metal fence railings were sanded, power washed and painted, but the garage doors had been painted several times, and Paul had all the paint sanded and scraped off to be able to use a new primer and paint that can withstand the all-day direct west sun. The exterior stucco near the front entry had become swollen from water collection, and Paul scraped that area and used a paint/stucco mixture to cover the archway and match the entryway, and he re-set the rock base to allow drainage. All the work involved went smoothly and looks perfect, and although he was here several weeks, when he left everything was cleaned up completely!"

"The service went fine. I had them paint all of the interior walls and trim. I paid an additional fee to have them paint the trim and cover more footage. They even did some minor repairs at no additional charge. I thought that was very nice of them. Three painters came out and completed the work in 5 days. I thought they did a good job. The father/son combo did a great job but their helper was not so good. They also did not do a good job cleaning up after themselves. I asked them to clean their brushes in the backyard and I found paint in my sinks. The stairs were also dirty and I had to get them professionally cleaned. Overall, considering they painted the entire house, the service went well. I had no problem scheduling the deal and they came out when they said they would."

"They brought a door to temporarily replace the front door and screwed it into place until the refurbished door would be returned. Seemed like the best way to avoid all the issues of cleaning, stripping, re-stain, etc. and running the house with a front door not fully closed (until stain and coatings are dry). We did this before on a previous house on a painted door, but the dry time for stain and coating would be longer, so we decided to use Restore Your Door Houston. All actions and follow-up were as scheduled in advance. Very pleased."

"Well, it went flawlessly.  Much of this job required a certain amount of "creativity" to solve the problems.  Rocky spent a lot of time analyzing what was done wrong in the first place by our builder and came up with the best solution to correct the problem and prevent it from happening in the future. The repaired leak in the attic vent was especially tricky.  Water had been leaking in for some time especially during periods of blowing rain.  Rocky's experience led him to the cause of the problem which was almost completely invisible since it was high up in the attic and very inaccessible.  He found it, fixed it and the leak is gone.  As for the painting and staining, let me stress that he took no shortcuts, no rollers, no spraying.  Everything was done slowly and meticulously by hand with a brush and he was very thorough using the best materials available.  It also required a lot of "high altitude" and difficult-to-get-at gymnastics! It probably took him a little longer to do it because of his technique and the difficulty of the access, but it was done the "right" way.  Which is what I wanted.  Repairing the grill area required a lot of creativity to do it "right" and to keep the cost reasonable.  It looks great and is now very functional.  He was always prompt, courteous and extremely professional. A real pleasure to work with.  I would trust him with the keys to my house if I were to be out of town when he was doing the work. I probably could have found someone cheaper, but not with the same professionalism and perfectionist attitude. You get what you pay for with Rocky.  He is an experienced, honest and responsible professional. I highly recommend him for any job large or small.  He is the best there is.

Stucco questions, answered by experts

The length of time shouldn’t matter much if you stick with lightweight Christmas lights and similar decorations. Those shouldn’t pose risks to your stucco. You should avoid attaching anything to your stucco that could fall because it’s too heavy, which may take part of the stucco with it. Some methods, like using double-sided tape or adhesive hooks, will naturally wear out over time and lead to falling lights, so don’t expect to leave these lights up year-round.

The Mediterranean style is unique in that it’s designed for homes in hotter climates and to maintain a connection with nature. The building materials include stucco siding, clay roofs, and interior tiling with tall ceilings and open floor plans. These all come together to keep the interior cool. The building materials are all natural and tend to have muted earth tones, and the architecture typically allows for easy, open access to the outdoors through large windows and arched doorways. The decor and architecture can range from simple and functional to opulent, depending on the type of Mediterranean home it is.

Damage is often caused by moisture, impact, or settling. Regular maintenance prevents significant issues.

Tools include trowels, floats, and patching compounds. Professionals use these for precise and durable repairs.

Failing to repair damaged stucco can lead to significant problems. Cracks can grow and deepen, allowing water and moisture to get behind the stucco. This moisture intrusion can cause water damage, structural issues, and mold or mildew growth. Delaying repairs will likely cost more in the long run as the damage worsens, so it's best to repair your stucco as soon as you notice any signs of damage, such as cracks, holes, or discoloration.
