I have traveled across several states building and detailing Multi-million dollar projects as well as remodeling various properties. I recently moved to Lubbock in order to help take care of my family, and I am trying to start my own business to work for myself and build a relationship within the community. I take pride in everything I work on, so I want you to get exactly what you imagine when you hire me in confidence.

"Super friendly and very knowledgeable. I was recently given a freezer by a neighbor and when I got it home it wouldn't work. I was looking for a quote for a diagnostic visit and JJ worked with me over the phone to try and fix it....for no fee. He suggested one likely solution to fix the problem and sent me the part number. Regardless of whether the solution works or not, I've got this company in my contacts list now if I ever need Appliance services."

"Just joined Choice Warranty and had to file a claim for my dishwasher and light switch in a bathroom. The online claim filing was very user friendly and I had both assigned to companies within hours. The electrician was in and out before I knew it! The appliance guy was knowledgeable & just as quick. I hope any of my future experiences will be just as fantastic!"

"We've used them for 16 years between our two homes. The cost is very reasonable. We pay a service fee visit. If its not covered, let say when our dishwasher was replaced. We wanted a more expensive one so we paid the difference."

"Great! We thought our 2 year old dishwasher had died after a power outage but it was a loose connection. Tim the repairman checked a little black box and realized there was a connection loose, he tightened the screw and we are back up and running."

Dishwasher Installation questions, answered by experts

Depending on your available time and skillset, there are some aspects of dishwasher repair you can DIY. Remember that dishwashers use water and electricity, which can cause potentially hazardous situations. However, there are some things you can do to reduce your overall repair cost, such as:

  • Cleaning the spray arm

  • Unclogging the float

  • Replacing the door gasket

  • Cleaning the door filter

  • Adjusting the door latch

The cost to repair a dishwasher is $200 on average, with the typical price ranging from $160 to $300. However, if you need a more specialized repair, that total could reach $600. The main cost factor is the price of the replacement part, but the dishwasher’s make, model, and year can also impact the price.

For a simple repair, such as a filter replacement, you can comfortably budget to spend between $50 to $100. But for something more complex like a repair on the dishwasher’s motor, you might see a bill totaling $400 to $600.

The answer is a resounding yes, as dishwashers save significant water and energy compared to washing dishes by hand. The difference is so drastic in fact that those who use energy-efficient dishwashers can expect savings of over $450 per year. This is because dishwashers use less water, they wash at a higher temperature than a hand rinse, and you don’t need to rinse them after washing. New dishwashers use around 4 gallons per load, whereas washing by hand can use up to 2 gallons per minute.

Maintenance includes regular filter cleaning, checking water connections, and ensuring that the unit operates at optimal efficiency without blockages.

Your first instinct might be to grab the bleach to clean a moldy dishwasher, but it’s not the best product for the job. You don’t want to use bleach to clean stainless steel components if your dishwasher has them, as it can cause significant damage. In addition, the scent of bleach can linger if not rinsed well, causing your dishes to retain a smell (and even taste) of bleach.
