"The project went well and in line with projected timing. My only complaint related to workers' failure to protect landscaping/mature plants along one of the 2 front wall sections. That landscaped area will have to be replaced next spring. The owner/operator is very conscientious and did a very good job of explaining the work that I did not originally realize needed to be done."

Classic Tile & Plaster, Inc. Is a family owned contractor service company serving swimming pool builders, pool service providers and the remodel needs of residential and commercial pool owners of North Texas. For nearly three decades Classic Tile & Plaster has built a solid reputation based on quality workmanship and superb customer service. ADAMS POOLS SOLUTIONS, formerly Earl Adams Tile and Coping was founded by Earl Adams has been serving Northern California for almost 60 years! ----- In late 1981 his sons brought the business to North Texas now known as Classic Tile & Plaster. Other offices in Houston and Las Vegas provides us a national identity and strong relationships with the major builders and supply houses in the country. Our Grapevine office was founded in 1982 with the day to day operations overseen by Bart Adams. ----- Serving the renovation needs of residential and commercial pool owners is a specialty of Classic Tile & Plaster. Most, but not all, older pools will require several phases of updates / improvements. One of our remodel specialists will assess your pool’s surface, tile, coping, and decking during a complimentary inspection. You will find this visit to be friendly (no hard sells), informative and well worth your time. Each item / phase is estimated separately so you can make the best, most informed decision about how to proceed with your pool remodel. Since each phase of the work is being performed by our in-house crews you can be assured that not only will the work be done correctly but completed in a very timely fashion (a typical pool remodel will take 5 – 10 days, weather permitting of course). From the simple to the complex, from the smallest residential to the largest commercial project; Classic Tile & Plaster stands ready to exceed your expectations. We look forward to serving you.

"Terribly. Poor job done. Waiting on corrections. They claim they need to send a "plaster expert" who travels a lot and is not in town now. BS. The detail: used Classic 13 years ago and they did a good job so chose them again. Considerable delays with last minute advice that they are coming tomorrow. Plaster job done poorly with over spraying and spotting on new brick on the spa. Yellowish stain thru out the pool. Uneven surface, very visible with pool lights on. Have been in contact weekly but no response. They first said they'd solve the problem with an acid wash which they did but didn't work. Now they're claiming they have to bring in a national expert to figure it out. No action in last 4 weeks. They're waiting for me to give up. Small claims court? Lawsuit (cost plus damages plus fees)?"

Concrete Repair questions, answered by experts

Regularly inspecting your foundation—at least the visible sections—for signs of foundation issues like moisture and pest infestation is a good way to identify slab leaks early, as is keeping an eye and ear out for water damage to indoor building materials, above-average water bills, sounds of running water when no fixtures or appliances are on, and indoor humidity that causes the temperatures to feel more extreme. If you do find any issues, contact a plumber right away to check it out for you.

Some foundation repairs are permanent, like underpinning and exterior drainage systems like the French drain. These fixes address the underlying problems—insufficient support from the soil and hydrostatic pressure on your foundation walls, respectively—so they can last for many decades, making them “lifetime fixes.” There are other solutions to address these issues that will last for up to a decade, making them temporary. These include slabjacking to raise concrete slabs back into place and dampproofing to reduce the water in the soil that interacts with the concrete foundation.

You can use a level or straight-edge to test for plumb foundation walls and a level slab, a level or a ball to check for sloping floors inside your home, and a hygrometer to look for moisture in your underhome area. Aside from these DIY tests, it’s important to get a foundation repair specialist or structural engineer to test the foundation to see if it’s supporting your structure properly. They can determine if the loads on the concrete are uneven or need reinforcement.

It’s usually not a big deal if your foundation sinks between 2 and 3 inches into the ground after construction, provided the settlement occurs evenly. This is usually indicative of normal settlement that occurs as the soil under your home adapts to the weight of the structure. If the home sinks more into the ground or the settlement occurs unevenly, leaving portions of your home to sink further down than others, then call a foundation repair specialist to address the issue and avoid additional damage.

No, hairline cracks in concrete are generally not a problem as they do not impact the strength and longevity of the concrete. Generally, cracks less than 0.3 millimeter wide don’t impact the structure. Hairline cracks can grow over time and weaken the structure, such as in a home foundation. Some hairline cracks can also cause leaks in a foundation. It’s important to watch the cracks to see if they grow. Contact a concrete contractor if you notice cracks exceeding 0.3 millimeter wide.
