"Spa Inspector came out, quickly identified the problem, ordered the part, got the part in a couple of days, and installed it. Spa Inspector even worked with me to get the part while the swim spa was under warranty. Friendly, professional, and courteous."

"They were wonderful. I'd give them an A+ if I could. They came out and they could tell what was wrong by the sound of my pump. It's like some people can look under the hood of your car and say, "This doesn't sound right," he could tell. It took about two days for the changes he made to take effect, but it turned my green pool to tropical blue. And plus, it's like since it wasn't working efficiently, so he tuned it up, basically. It's awesome. Now I can manage it much easier on my own. He was very quick to respond to my request, too. His price was an A because it was worth what he charged. It was $500 because there were some pretty serious issue with my pump. I was going to have come out in May. I need him to work on my heater. The other people I've seen who work on pools are like kids with a part-time job. This is an adult man who's been doing this his whole life. He definitely knew what he was doing. He charges you for his time and he's worth his time."

"Miguel was very responsive to our pool repair request. He has excellent knowledge of all aspects of pool repair. Our service requirements were for the pool filter and spa. Additionally, he repaired and replaced lighting, requiring some electrical work. In so doing, he uncovered a problem that could have been potentially dangerous that had existed for some time and was unknowingly (by us) the result of repairs performed by a prior service provider. We would certainly hire Angela's Pool Service again (and intend to do so). We would strongly recommend Angela's Pool Service, in particular Miguel."

"They arrived on time and advised the most logical placement of the fixtures. The deal was for the install of 4 recessed lights at $499 and I wanted two extra, which they charged an extra $340 for. I thought this was a little high since they were already cutting holes and running wire and the cost of the actual LED light fixtures is only about $25 at Home Depot, but I needed it done, so I went ahead with it. They also had to drill two extra holes in my kitchen ceiling where no lights were placed in order to run the wire because of the way the beams in my kitchen ceiling ran. They did this without telling me, but since I already needed to have sheet rock repair done on my kitchen ceiling, it was not a big deal. The only real complaint I have about the work was that they left quite a bit of mess behind (sheet rock dust and pieces). Overall, I think they did a good job and I would hire them again."

"Bryan came over to assess the project and he was very friendly and was also very knowledgable. He told me exactly what would be done and made sure to answer any questions I had. We set up a time for his tech to come complete the work. When the tech/plumber arrived the next morning he was also friendly and knowledgeable. He completed the work in about three hours (which included a brief run to the hardware store to buy parts) and made sure everything was perfect and with no leaks before leaving. In my opinion, one of the best things about this company is their desire to educate the pool owner. Both men that came to my house taught me several valuable things about keeping up my pool. As a new pool owner, I was so grateful for the tips and information. When I have something go wrong with my pool again, I will definitely be giving Norris Pools a call."

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

It will take several hours or more to build a sauna. A prefab kit will take anywhere from three to 20 hours to install, depending on complexity and your skill level. If you’re doing a custom build, it can take more than 50 hours—especially if you need to add ventilation, ductwork, and other renovations.

Both saunas and steam rooms offer some health benefits as well as a good return on investment. While there’s more research on saunas than steam rooms and fewer reported risks with steam rooms, the latter tend to be better for reducing stress. Which one is better depends on the benefits you’re looking for, your budget, and if you have space to build a sauna.

Most people will opt to put their home sauna outside near a pool or on a screened-in porch so the heat doesn’t move into the rest of the house. If your house has enough room, you may choose to put it in a bathroom so you can shower right after.
