"Sandoval Tree Service used a stump grinder to get rid of my Oak tree stump. They arrived on time, did a fine job of grinding the tree stump, and they cleaned up all the mess. I was very pleased."

"They did an awesome job taking down two trees messing with my foundation in the front of the house. His guys were here early around 7:15 am. Perfect since I'm an early riser. "Great service and very professional attitude: The owner, Mr. Ricardo Garcia Prieto personally handled things from the start in a very courteous and flexible way, he provided a very fast turn around, starting with a quick estimate, presented prof of insurance, showed his personnel all what needed to be done and supervised their work. Mr. Garcia Prieto even added a few last-minute "extras" like straightening a sago palm. His employees were also very nice and responsive and they did a very thorough job not only trimming the trees, but cleaning up afterwards.
Overall, a great experience and I sincerely recommend Mr. Garcia Prieto / Rain Hunters for all your tree-service and landscaping needs; a trully professional outfit!

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Trees provide many benefits, including shade, habitat for local wildlife, and cleaner air, so it’s always a good idea to try an alternative strategy like crown reduction before you chop one down. But sometimes, cutting down a tree is the only option (like if it’s severely diseased). A licensed arborist can assess the tree and recommend the best course of action.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

Peach trees don’t tend to live as long as other types of trees and crops. They tend to last only about 12 years, and you shouldn’t expect to see a full peach harvest each of those years, either. Young peach trees need a few years to get established before they produce fruit, but you should have plenty of peaches for your pies and cobblers during their mature years, around years four through eight.

It’s not as common for Dutch elm disease to affect other types of trees, especially if the surrounding trees aren’t elms. However, it is possible for DED to spread to other trees, particularly in northern states, like Minnesota. In fact, it’s a good idea to use geography to identify wood and determine which types of trees are in your yard.

Unfortunately, the complex and shallow root system of elm trees makes surrounding elm trees particularly vulnerable to DED. Early discovery is key!

Most experts recommend removing a tree that has sustained more than 25% loss in the limbs, trunk, or circumference of the bark. Doing an initial trimming of damaged and dangling branches, but then waiting a few days of monitoring to decide how much more you might need to cut can help you better assess the total damage to the tree. However, consulting a tree maintenance pro to make this determination the best course of action before removing a tree.
