"Olson's Earthworks, LLC is a lifesaver! After my neighbor's tree fell on my camper, Olson's Earthworks showed up the next day, made a plan, and removed the tree (had to cut down more of the neighbor's tree to get it off my home). Professional, friendly, helpful. These guys are the best! "

Richard's Pest, Lawn, & Combined Services is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We are also very PROUD to be the only Business in SETX able to offer all these services combined. It feels really nice to be able to Provide our Customer's with so much more then our competition can (and at NO additional Cost). As long as they are on our Combined . I've had a lot of my Customer's over the years that have asked (Me) the owner how and why do I do all three of these Services for cheaper like this? Aren't you losing a lot of revenue doing this way? My answer has always been, "Probably So, but at least I know all of my Customers are getting their money's worth and that they are very Happy with the Service's we provide. There's much more to come!

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

Increases yard usability, prevents pest infestations, and improves landscape aesthetics.

Although many tree roots will continue to grow after the tree has been cut, there are a handful of exceptions to this rule. While species like elms, ficus, and willows have roots that will regrow with a vengeance, pine, oak, and maple roots will die when they’re cut down. If you’re not sure what kind of tree roots you’re dealing with, there’s a simple way to find out. New sprouts on old trunks, stumps, or exposed roots are a sign that the root system is still hard at work.

Stump grindings are usually safe to use in soil, but in some cases, it’s not recommended. Wood chips in particular can bind nitrogen in the soil, which will make it difficult for grass to grow. That’s why it’s important to remove most wood chips and use healthy garden soil if you want to cover the stump spot with grass. Large wood chips may attract beetles and could encourage the growth of fungi when they decay, so you may want to remove them when using the grindings.

You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.
