"FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE, from initial planning through clean-up. High-quality materials. The workmanship is excellent, much better than most in San Antonio. The installers are true craftsmen, and pay attention even to the most minor details. They are very friendly and courteous; patiently answer all questions. They completed the work ahead of time and the clean-up was very thorough. Special "shout-out" to the lead installer, Evan."

"Genie was the only company (locally owner & operated) willing to do our project within the allotted time frame my husband and I had. Jerry Dixon came and gave us a quote, showed us the products they used, explained the procedure required and made sure they would be able to do finish the job we wanted within our time frame. Needless to say, the installation was done perfectly as the installers were very professional, came to work on time, were friendly, clean and explained everything to us. I highly recommend Genie Bath Systems for whatever bathroom work you may need. You can call Jerry Dixon at 210-461-2066. You will not regret it!"

"A wonderful experience with Energy Home Pros. the salesman was very clear in explaining everything and the work crew did the job in less time than originally scheduled. The also cleaned up everything, put back the blinds and also had us inspect the work and demonstrated the window operation."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use vinegar to unclog a dishwasher. To do so, combine 4 tablespoons of white vinegar with 4 tablespoons of baking soda and pour the mixture down your dishwasher’s drain. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then pour a cup of hot water down the drain to flush everything out. Finally, run a rinse cycle on your dishwasher to see if the clog is gone.

You should not attempt to snake your sewer yourself. Accessing and snaking your sewer requires heavy-duty equipment, and while renting is possible, misusing it can damage your sewer main and leave you with very expensive repair costs, not to mention potential environmental issues and severe water damage. Accessing your sewer also exposes you to hazardous sewer gasses, and failing to seal the sewer properly after work can be very dangerous. It’s always best to hire a professional sewer cleaner near you to handle this type of work.

It’ll take 20 to 30 minutes to unclog a sewer line using a drain snake or drain cleaner. If you hire a professional, you should expect them to be on-site for three hours or less. In addition to clearing the clog, they’ll do other routine inspections, which adds to the overall time (and cost) required.

An active cleaning agent and a drain snake is the best way to clean a main sewer line. You can purchase a regular or enzyme drain cleaner or make a DIY drain cleaner with baking soda. Use your chosen solution at least once a month or as needed to keep your sewer line clear.

For disposal clogs with standing water, use a sink plunger and place it over the garbage disposal drain. Push the sink plunger up and down the drain about six to eight times before lifting. If the sink drains, the clogged food particles are dislodged from the drain. If there’s still standing water, repeat the steps until the standing water clears out.
