"He came quickly to provide an estimate and charged $85 which he said would be deducted from the $1300 quote. He stated that he would send a receipt. Never did. This was on Friday and said he would come on Wednesday. He didn't show. After several attempts he finally answered. He initially denied he had made the agreement, but eventually admitted he made a mistake. He promised that he would come on Saturday. I guess we're out $85. Don't make this mistake."

It can take anywhere from half an hour to a few hours to fix a main line clog, depending on the cause and severity of it. The job should not take more than a day to complete. Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.

There are several homemade solutions for clearing a clogged sink that don’t involve pouring harsh chemicals down your drain. Start by pouring hot (but not boiling) water down the drain. This can help dissolve and flush away grease and gunk. A splash of dish soap down the drain can also cut through fat and make it easier to clear the drain. For a more stubborn blockage, grab a plunger and give it a few firm pumps to dislodge the clog.

Most blockages can be cleared in 1-3 hours, but severe issues may take longer.
