"This company is amazing, he gave me a quote same day, had machines on the job the next. They built us a stunning pond and a driveway my neighbors are envious of. We had another company do some landscaping and they botched it so hard our house was flooded. Hicks landscaping saved the day, it looked better and was done faster than the botched job. Will use again!!!"

"Great job its many weeks later and The work is excellent. They designed the area around my fire pit and built a walkway as well. The quote remained consistent, and they completed the project in a timely manner. It was great work, and I would certainly consider hiring them again if the need arises."

"The brick layers were very knowledgeable and experienced. They corrected an alignment problem I wasn't even aware of. They finished the project in three hours and I was very pleased with the results. They suffered through the rain to keep working. I would highly recommend R&M Masonry for any stone or brick project."

"Longs Irrigation was easy to work with and advised me on all phases of the job. They also gave me a good price on the concrete block used on my wall. I would recommend that they include “retaining wall contractors” in their title so others will know that they do this kind of work as well."

"They kept us up to date on they arrival of blocks that had to be special ordered . They hauled in additional dirt that was need and spread it out to our satisfication. They are hard workers and price was reasonable. A friend of mine recommeded them and we were not dusappointed."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Yes, with custom measurements ensuring perfect fit and function.

Yes, but ensuring the deck has a solid foundation with adequate footings is critical before building, as the weight of a sunroom will put significant pressure on the structure below. Even if your deck is properly constructed, it may not be able to handle the extra weight. While some basic, lightweight, prefabricated sunrooms can sit on a deck with a strong existing foundation without additional supports, in many cases, the foundation and joists will need reinforcement. It is always best to have a structural engineer perform an inspection to evaluate the deck's quality and structural integrity. A professional can help you decide if reinforcement is sufficient or if it's better to tear down the deck and start over.

If you’re trying to decide between a sunroom and a screened-in porch, the right choice will depend on your priorities. A screened-in porch costs only a fraction of the price of a sunroom, but in exchange, it has much more limited use. A sunroom will add more value to your home, but at a much higher up-front cost and longer construction timeline.

A sunroom is worth installing on a deck, both for the value and your own enjoyment. A Florida room addition costs between $10,000 and $140,000, so it’s pretty expensive. However, a quality sunroom can offer a 50% return on investment, making your home more sellable. Plus, if it’s a space you and your family enjoy relaxing in daily for years to come, it’s worth the money, time, and effort, even without the added monetary value.

A screened-in porch can add value to your home, but it won’t count toward the total square footage at an appraisal or when it comes time to sell. A screened-in porch is not fully enclosed, usable year-round, insulated, or heated or cooled, so it doesn’t meet the requirements of livable square footage in most locations.
