"Elderly Abuse …. Run I woke up to a leak in my front yard as I headed out of town. My wife called Roto Rooter as she left for work to come give us a quote. They said they only needed someone there to greet them when they arrived. So we had my 85 year old, legally blind, suffering from dementia mother, who lives next door, meet them outside so they could begin with their estimate. They never called us for a quote. Instead he replaced one section of pipe (which was only 4 ft. long), and a shut off valve (which he said was broken but was not) and charged a whopping $6,500. He walked next door and demanded payment from my blind mother. NO APPROVAL WAS GIVEN!!!! NO PHONE CALL WAS MADE!!! My mother, who isn’t mentally with us anymore, gave them her credit card and boom…… $6,500. We didn’t get a new water heater or a new sprinkler system. We got one 4 ft. section of pipe for $6,500 and a shiny new on/off valve which was not needed. That guy new what he was doing. He didn’t call us for a reason. He took one look at my blind old mom with dementia and charged whatever he wanted. He left us an arbitrary bill I could hardly read with little to no specifics. I have attached…. When I called the manager he did return half of the amount. It sounded like we were making progress. I still asked for an itemized receipt so I could see how 4 ft. of pipe and a valve would cost $3,250. If I stayed in town this repair would have cost me a total of $75 dollars in materials. He said he would get that itemized receipt and then has ghosted me ever since. I have reached out on numerous occasions. This company did not have permission to do $6,500 or $3,250 worth of work on my property. They were called for an estimate and took advantage of my elderly, blind, dementia plagued mother to run up a huge bill that no one can explain. They demanded that my mother, who isn’t the homeowner, pay $6,500. My wife waited by her phone all day for an estimate that never came. This is morally and ethically appalling at every level. Just for reference, we had our foundation lifted for $9,000 last year. They dug under the house in several areas and lifted it. This guy wanted about the same for replacing a 4 ft. section of pipe. How is this real????"

"The whole process could not have been better! We called and made an appointment for estimate in July. Danny Boes came ( at appointed time) and explained the system and choices we had. We accepted the offer. We were told up front the start date would not be right away, but we also needed to have trees trimmed that were hanging over the roof, so we had plenty of time to prepare. Prior to start date John(?) came out to take measurements. The work started at the end of August and took about 2 weeks - rain delays! The workers were out here every day getting done what they could between rain storms! The workers were friendly and took time to answer my questions when I would go out to look at the work. They asked where they could place items they left here so they would not be in our way. The site clean-up after the roof removal was better than I expected and overall the clean-up was excellent. In some ways, the rain storms actually helped us. We had an area that was leaking and asked them to see if they could find the problem and fix - they found the problem and worked to fix (it had to do with our siding) - rains came...no leak!! "I got a leak in my roof and into my living room after the last ice storm. I got with Kangaroof and they sent out a salesman who looked at my roof and my inside ceiling which has a 2 foot line of sheetrock hanging from the leak. He gave me a quote of $1100 to fix the issues and I said fair enough. A week or so later a tech came out and spent about 1 hour on my roof and another hour going back to shop to get different shingles. Tech did not tell me when he was done and just left. Well, my inside ceiling is still not fixed. I called Kangaroof and they said that my salesman did not include any inside work on the quote and I said what! So I just paid them about $1000 an hour to fix my roof. So they sent the same salesman back out and he kept putting off coming back out but after about 3 calls to the office asking where he was he finally came out. He came in and looked again at the ceiling and took some measurements and then said sorry my laptop died and I will have to send you a quote tomorrow by email. Well I know why he pulled that stunt because the quote was $8000.00 to repair a 2 foot piece of sheetrock! What on earth! Get the #%#$ out of here whit that noise! Long story short, there is no honor in their quotes so be aware!"

Ultimately, Jerry stole $14,500 from us and has ceased returning our calls, texts, and emails after stringing us along about illnesses, manufacturing issues, etc. for 6-months. We signed a contract on 2/17/25 with a promise of whole home window replacement. We made a down payment of $14,500 along with signing the contract It is now August 22nd and we can?t get ahold of the company. They have ignored us for almost a month. Our next step is to find others with a similar story and go to the District Attorney with our story.
