"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"We've had numerous contractors work on various parts of our house, and we've had some awful experiences. Danny easily ranks at the top as the best contractor we've hired. He arrived on time to our first consultation, and he spent some time talking to me about my house and my bathroom so that we were on the same page. He gave us a very fair price, especially compared to the ridiculous quote we got from a home supply store. We signed a contract with him, and he scheduled the date for work a month ahead so we knew when to expect him. Danny always returned our phone calls promptly, and he was easy to communicate with. Originally, we hired him to remove an old, rusty tub and replace it with a fiberglass shower stall, which included altering the plumbing. But we quickly realized that since the old sink and toilet had to be removed (in order to get the tub out of the tiny bathroom), we would be smart to replace everything. Danny didn't bat an eye: he got us a new price and took care of those items as well. All work was completed professionally and completely. My one regret is that he had to move on to the next job because I have other parts of my house that need renovation!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

To pack mugs securely for a move, start by lining the bottom of a moving box with padded packing material like bubble wrap. Wrap each mug individually, tucking the ends of the bubble wrap inside the mug for a snug fit. For extra protection, consider using a moving box with built-in slots to keep the mugs separated.

When placing the mugs in the box, pack them tightly enough to prevent them from shifting, but not so tightly that they are under pressure. Fill any empty gaps between the mugs with additional packing material. To keep the box from becoming too heavy, it's best to pack no more than 10 mugs per box. Finally, be sure to label the box as “fragile” so movers know to handle it with care.

The best way to pack mirrors is to use specially padded cartons or boxes made for mirrors. Be sure to thoroughly wrap the fragile mirror in padded paper or bubble wrap before sliding it into its box. That way, there’s a protective barrier in between the mirror and the box. Then, fill in any gaps with crumpled paper or additional packing materials.

Moving insurance helps protect your belongings from damage or loss during the moving process. This policy can help reimburse you either part of or the total amount of your belongings that become damaged during the moving process. Moving insurance has three main options: full value protection, released value protection, and third-party or separate liability coverage. Speak with your moving company to determine what is covered under each policy and their cost to determine the best fit for your needs.

There are many places to get moving boxes, so it’s worthwhile to shop around and compare prices. Try big-box stores such as Walmart, as well as home improvement stores such as Lowe’s and The Home Depot. You can also try specialty places such as U-Haul or Office Depot. Finally, check online at Amazon or ask your friends or family if they have any spare moving boxes they could lend you.

Unscrew and remove furniture legs if possible. If it’s not possible, then run the straps parallel on the inner side of the furniture legs. Never put your straps on the outer side of legs where they can easily slip off.
