"Long story short we have elderly relatives that needed a large tree removed. The tree was dying and had already broken off in a storm. A large portion of the tree was situated above the roof and bedrooms. They are on a fixed budget and couldn’t take care of the problem themselves. I requested a quote from a few companies on here and never got a response. Oscar was quick to respond and even came out memorial weekend to give us a quote. Oscar was very professional and didn’t mind answering what seemed like dumb questions. Without even knowing the full situation, he gave a very reasonable quote and even offered to take care of some other small issues free of charge. Oscar came out with his crew in a few days and went above and beyond to make sure the hazardous tree was fully removed. I was very impressed with Oscar and his crew. Oscar was out there himself getting his hands dirty, getting the work done. I don’t leave reviews often, but it goes without saying I would highly recommend OS tree service! Thanks again Oscar for taking care of the family."

Customers say: True professional

"DR Bob treated my tree for Dutch elm disease, as well as my shrubs for spider mites, and black spot. Definitely cheaper than replacing all my shrubs, which I was preparing to do. Prompt and professional. Fingers crossed, this works!"

"Couldn't be happier with the fence and the service. Tim laid out 2400ft of fencing faster than I've ever seen anybody do it. He also fixed about 300ft of fencing that a previous contractor did a terrible job on."

"Big Foot Lawn Services is a fantastic, affordable lawn care service. They came out and looked at my yard, gave me a reasonable quote, and took care of the job! They also looked at some of my house plants, recommended different additions to the solid, and made a bag of homemade soil for my potted plants! They are professional and straightforward. I’d recommend them to anyone who needs their lawn serviced or if they need any kind of specialty soils for their plants!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Generally, you do not have the right to take fruit from a neighbor's tree, even if the branches overhang your property. The fruit is considered the property of the tree's owner. While you may have the right to trim branches that cross into your yard, the fruit on them typically still belongs to your neighbor. However, laws can vary by state and municipality. In some areas, branches that extend into your yard or trees that straddle a property line may entitle you to some of the fruit. The best course of action is to speak with your neighbor, as they may be happy to share. If a conversation is not possible, check your local regulations before picking any fruit.

Yes, it is essential to confirm that any tree service company you hire is properly insured before they begin work. Tree removal, trimming, and pruning are dangerous jobs, and proper insurance protects you, your home, and the company from liability in case of accidents or damage. Look for a company that carries both general liability and workers’ compensation insurance, and do not hire one that cannot provide proof of coverage. When browsing for professionals, you can look for indicators like an “Angi Approved” badge, which signifies that the business meets standards like holding applicable licenses and passing a background check. Keep in mind that a license is a legal requirement to operate, while certifications are typically voluntary.

Trees aren't big fans of moving, and they do go into shock during a transplant. Although most carefully thought-out tree transplants see the tree recover from the shock just fine, there is always a risk of having an unsuccessful move. Proper preparation, timing, and diligent aftercare are crucial to minimize the risks when transplanting a tree.

In most cases, leaving tree roots underground is not a problem if the stump has been removed or ground below the soil. However, some larger roots may decompose, leaving dents in your soil. Additionally, some aggressive trees, including willows, oaks, elms, maples, and poplars may grow back from roots. Large aggressive trees with established root systems are more likely to grow back.

In most ways, palm trees are incredibly low-maintenance. They don’t need a ton of water—which is why they’re so beloved in desert regions—and they basically prune themselves. But they do need an ample supply of sunlight and to be in soil that will allow for proper drainage so that their roots don’t become waterlogged and at risk of developing illnesses.

If the plant begins to wilt, develop spots, or change color, these could all be signs that your palm tree has a disease. But a few basic treatments, like pruning and applying fungicide, will usually be more than enough to return it to perfect health.
