"Because of weather issues, our appointment was delayed. Since time wasn't an issue, I am more than happy that I didn't look elsewhere for the work to be done. Gabriel of Galactic Welding, came to my house under threat of rain, and did a job that was at least difficult, at most, time-consuming and dirty. I had Gabriel grind off a coupler and chain attachment points from a utility trailer, and then weld on a new bulldog coupler and reattach the chain attachment points. It was a nasty, laying on your back, on your knees kind of job. Not a nice, easy welding-only kind of job...it was just plain difficult. He ran into a problem with the new coupler, and solved it like an old pro. Gabriel, having done several of these types of coupler change-outs, I believe this one was fairly difficult for him, but never a word of complaint. During the time we were weather delayed, Gabriel communicated effectively thru texts, was reached easily, and always responded. The one thing that stood out to me was the fact that he was very concerned that the quality of his welds were excellent, and they are. He is a great welder, a personable, likable young man, He uses quality tools and knows how to use them effectively. He arrived on time, got to work immediately, yet while working, interacted with questions about my family, my military service, and my dog. Hire this young man for any welding jobs you may have. You won't be sorry, I promise you!"

"They were fast and efficient. Said it would take 2 or 3 days, they were done in a day 1/2. They cleaned everything up and the fence is beautiful, better than I could have imagined. ( We did a cedar board on board w/metal poles. We had an oversized gate and he built/welded a metal frame for it on site) They are super friendly and easy to work with. I would recommend 100%"

"They did an amazing job. Our fence collapsed due to the storm and needed to redo the whole fence ASAP since we have dogs. The fence was installed in 2 days. I am really happy with the outcome. Their team was professional, punctual, quality work, responsive, courteous and gave a great price out of several contractors that we called. Definitely will hire again for future projects."

Small jobs welcome

"Jacob responded very quickly. I sent photos to him. His quote was 1/3 that of another Angi contractor quote. Once scheduled, he arrived on time and finished the job within a few hours. He explained the work before, during, and upon completion. Excellent work! I hope we don't need future fence repairs or welding but I'll call Jacob at Shepherds Welding if we do."

Welding questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

Choosing the right metal fabricator for your project begins with research. Find a reputable fabrication company by searching for reputable contractors in your area, and then reviewing photos of their previous work, customer reviews, and photos of the company’s workshop.

Once you’ve narrowed down the list, contact the companies to ask about the types of metal fabrication projects they specialize and inquire about guarantees and warranties on workmanship. You should also ensure the company uses high-quality material, and ask about the schedule and turnaround time for your proposed project.

Costs depend on unit complexity, labor, wall mounting needs, and additional accessories like floating shelves.

You should not do your own welding unless you have the proper training and experience. Most home electrical systems can only handle MIG welding, which creates weaker bonds than TIG welding and won’t work on certain metals or metal thicknesses. Both welding forms usually require the use of shielding gas, which can be dangerous to store at home. Additionally, welding machines create temperatures of over 3,000 degrees, and the sparks can blind you if you don’t have the proper equipment. As such, it’s usually better to hire a professional welder for your welding projects.

This all depends on the tools you have on hand and whether you’re trying to cut a straight line or shapes.

The best tool to use for straight lines is either a circular saw or table saw. When cutting shapes, a jigsaw will be the easiest and most precise tool to use.
