"Great service, Steele J was my specialist. He went above and beyond with addressing my homes foundation issues, and was able to explain the entire process. Did not have a pushy sells tactic and was able to work with my budget. *Bonus* He was super friendly with my dogs and I was able to keep them out while he was here!"

"Gulf Coast took on an extremely difficult window replacement project in our 4 story stucco townhome. Many windows are 6 feet tall. They specified a high quality composite Paragon window. The windows fit great and the installers were wonderful people being very careful to install our new windows and seal them right. We had a few minor issues as expected on a job this complex and Gulf Coast worked to make the job perfect even getting the window manufacturer to visit our home. We are very satisfied! By the way, some of the most popular window manufacturers would not even quote our project. Great work by installer crews led by Nick and Jose, service from Adrian, office coordination by Ashley. Total team effort! Thank you Gulf Coast Windows!"

"Dustin was courteous and did a good job on this project. The tree was big, so it was a challenge. He hired a company to come out to pick up the tree debris, and it took them a couple of days to actually pick up the debris, but it was finally taken away. And the work on the roof was great. I'd hire Dustin again. He does the work, and his sweet wife answers the business phone. They're a good team."

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.

Yes, with modifications or the use of adapter kits for tricky placements.

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

The cost of window installation depends on several factors, including the window type, size, and frame material. Labor rates, the need for custom sizing, and any required structural modifications will also influence the final price.
