"My wife and son were out of the country for three weeks so I remodeled my home inside. I located Daniel and communicated my wishes and time frame, he met me at my home with the sample I had chosen from another retailer. He was professional, courteous, and informative as he took me through the bidding and selection process and ultimately earned my business with the promise of delivery and installation of my new Shaw floor before my families arrival from Europe in 5 days. MIssion Accomplished!!!!! The job was completed with only a couple hours to spare thanks to a well organized install and felt like one of those T.V. show hosts. The bottom line we love our new floor and can't wait to show it off. Thanks again, xxxxxx"

"Robert was very quick to respond to my inquiry, he also scheduled the project immediately. The work he did was superior and I will use him again and recommend him to other people I know. He also made suggestions (friends) for some of the other work that I need done."

I am an owner operator for a handyman service. I've been in this line of business for the past 6 years. I can do anything from Landscaping, to house remodels. I can paint, install crown molding, base board, window and door trim, sheet rock, tile, house siding and also windows and doors. Id like to say what sets me apart from my competitors is that I believe in quality over quantity, i like to make sure the customer is satisfied with the work.

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

In some cases, granite tiles can be installed over existing flooring if the surface is level, stable, and free of moisture issues. However, removing old flooring is often recommended to ensure a secure and long-lasting installation, as well as to avoid height differences at thresholds. Consult with your flooring pro to determine the best approach based on your specific situation.

A cement backer board is not needed for laying tile on concrete. Sometimes referred to as a cementitious backer unit, or CBU, backer board should be used if the subfloor is plywood or OSB. The backer board provides a base on which to install the tiles that isn’t as likely to be damaged by any accidental water seepage as natural materials would be.

When choosing between porcelain and ceramic tile, the best option depends on your specific needs, budget, and project application. Porcelain tile is generally more durable, denser, and harder than ceramic, making it a good choice for busy, high-traffic areas. It also offers superior moisture resistance, making it ideal for moisture-retaining spaces. However, porcelain is typically more expensive, and its hardness can make it brittle, potentially causing it to crack if a heavy object is dropped on it. In contrast, ceramic tile is a more budget-friendly option with lower material and installation costs. It is softer and easier to work with, making it a great choice for DIY projects. While not as durable as porcelain, ceramic is still a quality material suitable for many home applications, particularly small, decorative projects.

If you want your ceramic tiles to be evenly spaced and installation to take less time, spacers are a crucial part of the installation process.

Common problems include cracks, loose tiles, and grout discoloration. Proper maintenance prevents many issues.
