"I was very satisfied from start to finish. The group, that came out to do my bathroom was very punctual and kept me informed as to what was going on each day and asked if I had any questions which I did and they answer to every concern a question I had without hesitation. Kitchen Remodels: Often called the heart of the home, kitchen remodels are super popular. This can be anything from simple updates like painting cabinets and replacing hardware to a full gut renovation. Popular kitchen updates include installing new countertops (quartz is a big one right now), adding a kitchen island for more prep space and seating, and upgrading appliances. \n• Bathroom Remodels: Bathroom renovations are another common project that can have a big impact. These can range from cosmetic changes like a new vanity and fixtures to a full overhaul that includes re-tiling the shower, installing a new tub, and updating the flooring. \n• Adding Living Space: If you're feeling cramped, there are a few ways to add more living area. A home addition can create a new bedroom, a larger living room, or a home office. Another option is to finish an existing space like a basement or attic. Garage conversions are also becoming more common.

I have previously remodeled over 40 homes in the MetroPlex - over the last 10-years. Many, but not all, were very large and comprehensive remodels. But some were just basic bathroom or kitchen upgrades. I have since reduced my staff to 2-3 of us older men - whom just need a few jobs a month to work through. I can send pics of work ranging from $150K residential flips to $850k residential overhauls.\nIf you want to compare my pricing with non-citizens, or church-neighbors who say they can lay tile for you - just move on. we will complete the work - as requested... but we will not do it just to keep bites of food in our mouths.\nPlease be respectful of seasoned men who don't need your dollars to continue our lives.\nWe only do one job at a time - we will arrive everyday until completed.\nThanks for the opportunity.

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

Since DIYing a basement remodel isn't typically advised, there are some ways that you can still save money on this project without putting yourself in danger. Some ways to save money on a basement remodel include:

  • Painting walls yourself versus including in the cost of the remodel

  • Installing light fixtures yourself

  • Choosing prefabricated fixtures, like cabinets, over custom ones

  • Choosing a budget-friendly flooring option, like laminate or vinyl flooring, and add rugs where necessary

Yes, you can add a kitchenette to a basement. However, you’ll have to consider the costs associated with basement kitchenettes. If you’re starting from scratch in an unfinished basement, you’ll need to account for brand-new plumbing, electrical, flooring, and more in addition to the cost of the kitchenette. If you’re putting a kitchenette in an already finished basement equipped with plumbing and electrical, you’ll save considerable money.

Roughing in and connecting utilities are the hardest parts of finishing a basement, and they’re the parts we typically don’t recommend doing as a DIY project. Unfortunately, your finishing timeline can be extended by weeks while you wait for contractors and inspectors to install electrical wiring, plumbing lines, and heating/cooling equipment and carry out inspections.

Anything having to do with the structure of your home, such as raising the ceiling, is usually the most expensive part of finishing a basement. Another project component that could be a surprisingly high expense is adding an exterior entrance.

The cost of a walkout basement can be anywhere from $5,000 to $35,000.

Although it’s not required, air ventilation in a finished basement can help improve the air quality, prevent moisture and mold issues, keep musty odors away, and also maintain the air quality throughout the rest of your home. Proper ventilation will help maintain the value of your investment in finishing your basement. Try basement ventilation methods like installing vents or a dehumidifier for best results.
