"It went really well, better than expected. Mr. King was great to work with as he provided me several options for water proofing (for the future) and he installed a sump pump which is what I needed as the first step. He was on time, cleaned up after the job was done (and during) and wanted to make sure we were very happy with his work. I waited to do a review because I wanted to see how the sump pump worked after rain. We have had a couple of good rain events since it was installed and we heard it working and doing its job. The unit is a little loud, but knowing it is working and moving the water out of the crawlspace is all that matters to me."

We have been in business for 175 years, and our foundation work is backed by a Lifetime Warranty and Guarantee. It's important to begin any enterprise with a firm foundation and no one knows better than Abry Brothers. Abry, a skilled shorer, arrived in New Orleans from Frank- furt, Germany. Realizing he had a niche in the construction market due to the unstable delta soil which is characteristic of the area, Abry purchased a lot at 816-18 North Johnson St. and set up shop. He ran the business alone until the 1860's when he was joined by his son Emile. Emile's three sons came into the business near the turn of the century and operated under the name "Emile Abry &Sons." His sons would later change the name to Abry Brothers. Six generations later, Abry Brothers continues to be a stabilizing force in the building industry, handling all sizes and types of jobs. Also serving Louisiana areas such as Alexandria, Shreveport and Lawton, also Lawton, Oklahoma.

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Most projects take 1-3 hours, with immediate usability after completion.

Mudjacking restores level surfaces, prevents further damage, and is more cost-effective than a full replacement.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.

Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.
