A carriage house combines garage or storage space with living space, usually in two stories, while a garage generally does not offer any living space. That’s why it’s essential to winterize your garage door with insulation and weather stripping to prevent heat loss and keep it warm more easily. Garage door sensors should be installed on each side of the door, typically six inches off of the ground.
