"Great! They arrived at the time they promised. They were careful around my shrubs. The brick and siding of the house looked great and I was shocked at the difference having the driveway pressure washed made. I have asked them to contact me every 6 months to have it done again."

"Final bill came in slightly under estimate. Marcus Waller was reliable. He showed up on time and eager to work. He was friendly and professional. He was considerate, clean, and seemed to care about his work and our satisfaction. The job was completed on schedule. He did drywall repair and painting. He replaced moulding, a door, and a window sill. The quality of the work was excellent."

Small jobs welcome

"We hired MTZ Goldwash to do a complete interior deep-clean. They went above and beyond and really helped us to get out of a terrible bind. The gentlemen that arrived were concise, caring, and made certain that we were happy with all of the services being done along the way. A very professional job."

"I needed a small old septic tank broken and filled in. Then they graded the area for better runoff. Everything went as it should. They were on time and went to work quickly. They were also very pleasant, good attitude."

"First and foremost actually showed on time before his arrival time . Greeted with a smile and firm hand shake. Which now days you donâ t see much . We talked for minute asking about what exactly I needed done . We walked over and showed him my project. We continued to talk and visit and had a good vibe while explaining what I needed done . Walked away . A few hours later came back to check up on him and was completely finished . We shook hands and asked if he would be interested in another project. Said absolutely. . When next week , would be good for you . He said what about now . I shook his hand and walked away . Has a great work ethic and takes pride in his work . He is reasonable and donâ t take my word for it . Give him a call . You will not be disappointed in his work performance while doing an excellent job . I highly recommend him for any pressure washing job big or small give him a shout"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

In most cases, there should be a small gap between the house and the deck, usually no more than ½ to ¾ of an inch. This space allows water and moisture to flow through instead of pooling against the side of your house. It also lets flashing protect your siding from runoff, which is one of the most common issues with decks.

When building a deck, #2 grade lumber is a go-to for several reasons. It’s strong, budget-friendly, and works well for most framing and decking needs. But upgrading to #1 or Appearance Grade can give your deck that extra visual edge if you're after a cleaner, more polished look for high-visibility spots.

Most building codes require that spindles or balusters on deck and stair railings be spaced no more than four inches apart. This safety standard, often called the '4-inch sphere rule,' is designed to prevent small children or pets from slipping through the railing. A good way to visualize this is that a 4-inch sphere should not be able to pass between two spindles. For the same safety reason, the space between the bottom rail and the deck floor should also be no more than four inches. As a general guideline, professionals often install three balusters per foot of railing. However, since specific requirements can vary by location, it is crucial to check your local building codes to ensure compliance before starting your project.

When deciding if you should use 2x6 or 2x8 deck joists, consider the size of the deck, joist spacing, and materials. Larger decks, larger-spaced joists, and weaker wood all require more support, meaning they need larger joists. For example, 2x8 redwood joists spaced 16 inches apart can only safely span up to 10 feet and 7 inches. On the other hand, 2x10 southern pine joists spaced 12 inches apart can be as big as 16 feet and 2 inches. If you aren’t sure what size joist is best for your project, speak with your deck builder.

Two coats of stain are ideal for the best protection and aesthetic appeal. However, if your decking is made of particularly dense hardwood, you may only need one coat. If you want an intense color, two coats are ideal.
