"Jacob responded very quickly. I sent photos to him. His quote was 1/3 that of another Angi contractor quote. Once scheduled, he arrived on time and finished the job within a few hours. He explained the work before, during, and upon completion. Excellent work! I hope we don't need future fence repairs or welding but I'll call Jacob at Shepherds Welding if we do."

"I’m really pleased with the results of the 5ft and 6ft high Pipe fencing done by DimasCo. The crew was professional, worked efficiently, and handled the project from start to finish in a straightforward way. The fence looks solid and well-built, and they left the property neat when they finished up. Communication throughout the process was clear, and they made sure I was satisfied with the work. Overall, they did a good job and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for quality pipe fencing."

"Needed a new set of outdoor stairs for entry to second floor room over garage. Bruce came out right away and looked at the situation. Received a VERY reasonable quote for a brand new floating stairs staircase. It was measured and hand constructed with tubular steel and cement steps. He is very up to date on building codes so I knew this was the man to hire. He knocked off a several hundred dollars for my help as I love painting, and since I am retired, I do not mind helping out where I can. His measurements for the stairs were perfect, everything fits perfectly. Our staircase is extremely high for a second story run and his normal lift was a few inches short to handle the runner, so believe it or not he made another lift with no additional cost to me. This man could have been in the Navy Seabees or some type of outfit like that, what he can build with his own two hands is absolutely amazing. I learned a lot from him. The wife and I are very happy with the finished product. Did I mention it is a floating staircase! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!"

I like to weld and did welding all years in high school. I generally just love to work and be a provider. I have a a wife and a baby on the way and want to give them both the best life. I am currently a warehouse worker and work with a forklift. I would like to get back into welding field. I enjoy learning new things and obtaining new information.

Welding questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can cut plexiglass by hand using a sharp knife or blade (utility knife, box cutter, glass cutter, etc.).

Welding is the process of using extreme heat—and, sometimes, pressure—to attach two pieces of metal. In contrast, metal fabrication is a more involved process that can include welding, sheet metal work, bending, and other forms of metal manipulation. Metal fabrication is a large-scale project that may or may not involve welding, while welding is more often a step in larger fabrication projects.

While a high-speed circular saw will cut through metal, and even cut through multiple sheets at once, the fast-spinning saw blades create a lot of heat. This heat can damage paint and other protective coatings, leading to serious problems like rust over time. The cost to paint a metal roof again to avoid this damage is typically an additional $0.50 to $1 per square foot.

To maintain custom or fabricated metal structures and extend their lifespan and appearance, perform regular cleaning, apply rust prevention treatments, and use protective coatings.

Your typical household tools will not cut a metal pipe. To cut a metal pipe, you’d need more specialized tools like a pipe cutter or circular saw. Do not attempt to use these tools without taking proper safety precautions and wearing safety gear. It’s usually safer to let a pro cut a metal pipe, especially if you’re not confident in your skills with a heavy-duty saw.
