"JR is a combination of professional craftsman and "artist". He built a beautiful 8ft cedar, board-on-board, stained fence with an automatic gate for me. He added creative touches to the gate which was the cherry on top. He is meticulous in his attention to details, and completely accommodating to my ideas for the fence, the grounds, and the gate. I plan to use Greenville Gate again to do some repairs on a fence at another house, and have already recommended him to one of my close friends."

"We hired MLS to redo our gravel driveway last month and could not be happier with the results. From the first quote to the final walkthrough, the whole crew was professional, punctual, and clearly knew their stuff. Our old driveway was a mess — uneven, full of potholes, and washing out every time it rained. They graded the whole thing properly, laid down a solid base layer, and topped it with a clean crushed stone that looks fantastic. You can tell they actually care about doing the job right instead of just rushing through it. What really impressed me was the attention to drainage. They took the time to assess how water flowed across the property and adjusted the slope so we won’t have the runoff issues we had before. Also worth mentioning: they cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. No leftover debris, no ruts in the lawn from equipment. Pricing was fair and matched the original estimate — no surprise fees tacked on at the end. Highly recommend to anyone in the area l"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

If lead is detected in a property, steps should include arranging for professional removal or containment, notifying all occupants, and implementing interim safety measures to reduce exposure.

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

You do not have to remove lead paint if the surface is not chipping or peeling or if there are no pregnant people or children under the age of six who live in or regularly visit your home. Lead paint is a particular risk for young children whose brains and bodies are not fully developed. Experts strongly recommend that you call a pro to remove lead paint if it’s peeling or flaking, no matter who lives in the home. You can experience lead poisoning by breathing in or ingesting just a small amount of it.

Professional lead-paint abatement companies use a variety of methods to remove lead-based paint, depending on each particular situation. Some of the most common methods include:

  • Total removal: $8–$17 per square foot

  • Demolition and replacement: $1,000–$15,000 per project

  • Encapsulation: $4 per square foot

  • Enclosure: $10 per square foot

  • Chemical stripping: $10–$17 per square foot

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
