"TakeAir Houston came to our home to clean our AC vents. After inspection they found we had a mold infestation in all out AC vents and AC unit. Avi gave us a number of photo's to review and told us what it would take to kill the mold and what would be needed to clean the full system once the mold was eliminated. Avi also showed us photo's and videos of our insulation which was contaminated and also missing in quite a few areas of our loft. He then told us what was need to clean out the old insulation, clean the loft and blow 13" of R38 insulation back in. When the guys turned up to do the work they were very respectable of our home and it's contents. They covered everything up and got on with their work. Once everything was completed they showed us the before and after photos and also gave us a video of the loft area showing us the new insulation. All in all they did a wonderful job, quickly, quietly and without any issues whatsoever. They whole team were great and a pleasure to have in our home. I would definitely recommend TakeAir Houston for any mold, cleaning or insulation work you may have at your home"

Customers say: Quality work

"I had a patch in my ceiling that needed repair and he did the job the same day but had to come finish the work the next day. He did a great job and kept the area as clean as he could with the dust. I recommend him for your sheetrock needs."

"Went well - they were on time early in the morning - put paper on my floors and were very careful not to damage or dirty any of my interior furnishings. The attic was completely clean and I had my electrical work and then they sprayed in the new insulation and also into my walls – very happy with the service and the new comfort level I have inside my home. The salesman Gabriel was involved along the way from start to end and was a significant factor in our initial decision. Very pleased. Randy Parr"

"Joe came out on a Sunday to get the job done since I was working the days prior. This is the second time he's done work here and he is able to match the texture of the new drywall to the existing one perfectly."

"The upstairs rooms were extremely hot or cold during the seasons.  Jason informed me that I did not have any insulation in the upstairs attic and I was getting the heat and cold from the roof.    Since the insulation, my upstairs area is much cooler!
Jason is very knowledgeable in his field and he quoted me a price that I could not refused for down and upstairs attics.  He was on time at my home and ready for work.
Both attics were completed within the quoted time frame and a thorough cleanup job was done afterwards.  I am very pleased with Jason's work performance and I highly recommend him to anyone in need of attic insulation."

"For my first service - electrical wiring of my shed - Rhonda was very responsive and made me an appointment for a quote within the week. Steve, the technician, came out and explained the work and gave me a quote on the spot. The quote was the best I had received for the job. Steve did the work quickly and without issue. He took the time to answer all of my questions. I've called on them for a light fixture replacement and to check an issue with my air conditioner. They are my go-to for electrical, air conditioning and plumbing issues.

"They did a great job. I received one very overpriced estimate from a contractor who would not even come to my house before he gave me the estimate. I had another estimate from a company that was very rude and high pressure. AR Drywall came to my home and gave me a very fair estimate. They completely the work very quickly (faster than estimated) and it looks great. I have already spoken to them about additional work!"

"We ordered a custom 8ft storm door with an XL doggy door installed for our Great Dane. The team at Cambridge were excellent in helping us find the right door and options to suit our needs. At first I was worried the door wouldn't insulate well like you see with those cheap storm doors you find at home improvement stores, but we couldn't be happier with the door Cambridge installed for us. We've had it for about three months now, and have had no issues with heating or cooling in our house while leaving the back door open. The storm door has very high quality construction."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Drywall mudding can be done in one day if the project is small and the desired effect isn’t too complex. If you need multiple layers of mud, one day may not be realistic. But a single room that requires little more than joint compound on the seams and screws can be done in a day or two.

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.

Yes, if there is mold in your drywall mud and you then use it to build walls in your house—or if mold develops in your set drywall, like it can in hot and humid areas—it can lead to illness. Mold in your drywall (or other parts of your home) can make existing respiratory conditions or allergies worse, and the effect can be more intense for those who have existing health issues or compromised immune systems.

In many cases, installing new drywall will boost your home value. Replacing old, damaged, cracked, or wavy drywall is a great way to improve the look and feel of your home, as new drywall installed by a professional shouldn’t have any imperfections. Additionally, removing old drywall means you’ll have open walls, so you can install new insulation and address exposed issues with plumbing and electrical systems running behind the walls. All of these fixes will also add to your home’s value.

Yes, you can put paneling over textured walls. Of course, this will come down to personal preference and the type of paneling you want to install. From board-and-batten to shiplap and wainscoting, there are plenty of options to choose from.
