"They didn't go. That's the problem. It took two and a half months instead of two and a half weeks. Cuz I would never come over and do the job. And when you show off the work, nobody would show up, it was one person at a time and they weren't in the Uh, even in the orders, they needed to be in. You have to have electricians here to make sure everything is disconnected, if they don't disconnect it and turn off the power somebody could have gotten really hurt. Instead they left Live wires everywhere. The gentleman who said he was an electrician, did he? He, he would, he didn't do it correctly because he didn't put the wires in the condolence because he didn't know. That was part of Texas code if you don't go by cold, you're not a certified electrician. They just hired anybody off the street to come and do the job, that was it. They all were either, they were Hispanic in which it was very difficult for us to To talk to. And they just, they didn't even know Ruth who was the, um, Or just the project manager."

Multi- skilled handyman. My trade is carpentry, but I do everything from concrete to curtains. I put everything I have into every. Job I do. And I will work relentlessly until the job is complete. I will not leave a customer unsatisfied with my work and I take pride in all that I do. I am an owner operator since 2018 but I have over 23 years of experience and stand confidently in my ability to get the job done

Clove Hitch Carpentry is owned by Micheal Barnes, 8 year United States Navy Veteran and family man, who takes pride in his work and lives by the mantra; service before self. CHC loves to take other folks challenges and make them their own. Exceptional and Honest work, no matter the project. The veteran way.

"Absolutely recommend their services!! My Mother just moved into an assisted living facility and needed numerous tasks done to include assembling furniture, hanging wall fixtures, and numerous "honey-do" types of tasks. Our handyman (Mike) arrived right on time, worked efficiently and completed everything on our list to our complete satisfaction!!! The price was extremely reasonable for all the work we had him do! We plan on recommending this company to everyone living at my Mother's assisted living facility for all their handyman services/needs! Definite 5 star service!! Much thanks!??"

"Hector and his crew came out to do a tile job for me around a back yard pool. They completed the job as scheduled and worked late into the evening to meet the deadline. Everything looks great. Very professional as well."

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

Renovations that add functionality or more comfortable floor space generally add the most value when remodeling your home. Attic or basement finishing can add floor space without altering the home's structure, saving you renovation money while adding valuable space. Smaller improvements, such as installing smart-home components or replacing entry doors and windows, also experience high ROIs.

Yes, finishing a basement is worth the money in most cases. Although the project is a relatively expensive one, finishing a basement adds usable square footage to your home and typically increases your home value. Many times, your finished basement will add value that’s equal to or greater than the cost of finishing.

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.

Basements with persistent moisture problems or flooding shouldn’t be finished until the moisture issues have been fixed. In addition, if your foundation is cracked, you have unmitigated radon levels, or you have asbestos or lead pipes, remediate the underlying problem before finishing your basement. Turning a basement into living space before fixing these issues can lead to serious health risks or structural damage.

Finishing a basement normally takes four to eight weeks, but the timeline depends on the size of your basement, your contractor's availability, and the extent of finishing work. Framing the basement will take three to five days, while adding electrical and rough-in plumbing can be another three to five days. Adding drywall can take five days, and floor installation can take two to three days. Final touches, like painting and adding trim, will take another week.
